Just bought it. Standard 8 gives you 3 licenses for 3 different computers and or devices. License covers both iOS version for iPad and desktop version for PC and Mac. Been using it for years. 8 is a great upgrade. 1 year of free app or software updates.

I have Pianoteq iOS working fairly well with an iPad 7 connected to my Casio S7000 Digital piano via USB host to lightning and then using the headphone jack for the best listening experience with minimal latency. Performance hovered between 40 and 70. Trying to connect using a bluetooth midi module was a disaster, the latency was so bad it made Pianoteq unusable. I can’t see how anyone could have a nice experience running Pianoteq on normal iPads that don’t have a headphone socket e.g. ipad 10. To the best of my knowledge, people would be limited to iPads 7th -9th generation or iPad Pros / airs that have headphone sockets. Something to be mindful of. Playing pianoteq through ipad speakers is underwhelming to say the least and using bluetooth earphones the latency will probably be noticeably bad.

I've used PianoTeq for many years on PC, and it's always been one of the best piano apps in this very competative market. Up till now, RavensCroft and Pure Piano were the best IOS piano apps, but neither was as good as the best VSTs. So this is a huge win for IOS. As for the price, it's expensive, but in line with Pro apps like B-3X and Synergy. Top-class applications are expensive, and many VST apps are far more than this. Getting the PC or Mac version for free is a big bonus too. This is great news!
@iPadBeatMaking

@geoffk777
@geoffk777 Жыл бұрын
@@iPadBeatMaking I haven't really maxed it out on either platform, but on both platforms, it seems to use very few resources or CPU. It's much more efficient than sample-based pianos or many synth apps.

I have hooked my iPad to my Steinberg UR22C connected to my Korg D1 and external loudspeakers and all works astonishingly well. The only problem is to provide the iPad with power since the usb-c is feeding the Steinberg. I wish to find a solution for that.

I feel like this is the mentality that keeps big developers from porting their plugins to iOS. You just can’t expect to pay 5 bucks for professional Software. Ask anybody who’s serious about producing and they will all have spent hundreds and thousands of dollars on plugins. This is professional software where they just made it possible to use your license on an iPad as well as desktop now. So how is that not the best one could hope for, and why should it be cheaper on iPad than it is for desktop.
