Use your intentionality to attract more people like you, whatever it is you are into. Set intentions regularly about what type of friends you want to attract into your life. Be clear with your intentions, don't feel or think or act like a victim as it is disempowering and only sets you up for one reality, the one where your fears about being alone or not being good enough come true because that is what you're focusing on. You have the power to change your reality.

My very awesome reading teacher in 5th grade played this song for us and made us remember the lyrics to it so we could learn about poetry (this song has lots of poetry devices to it). I now visit this video every now and then to remember how great of a teacher he was. Poetry is now one of my favorite things to write because of the way he taught it to us.

It's funny how someone can shape our interests! I had a history teacher that to this day has made a significant change in my life by introducing me to history (history was a history teacher) simply by his way of teaching and introducing us to the material! To this day I love history because of him!

I heard this song for the first time earlier today while watching an old episode of Revenge. Hearing it evoked some very powerful emotions in me, emotions I hadn't felt in years.I bought the song from itunes and went for a walk, listening to it on repeat. I don't know what it is about the song that hits me in such a powerful way. It's not even a genre I typically listen to. But now I can't get enough of it. I bought the rest of the album, and although I didn't know who she was yesterday, I now count myself as a huge Agnes Obel fan.

I have a really special, amazing memory associated with this song, it’s the one song in my life that fills me with true melancholy. I don’t know if anyone will ever actually read this, but I think it’s quite a fun story for the love lovers out there. When I was 14, my mum and I went on holiday to Iceland. As soon as I saw the landscape from the plane I already felt like it was going to be a magical experience (I was also a 14 year old who romanticises EVERYTHING and 10 years later at 24 I am still the same lmfao). Anyway, we have a couple of excursions booked through our Hotel, one of them being driving out into the middle of nowhere to see the northern lights. So we are on the bus, I notice a cute blonde boy go past when I had already sat down, and then he sat one row from behind me, so we are pretty close in proximity on the bus. We stop a few times in different locations. On the first stop, he held up a bit of fencing for me and my mum to get through and there was a bit of elongated eye contact.. So 14 year old me is in love obviously, then we get back on the bus and we start playing footsie or whatever (this sounds so cringe but it was magical under all the stars and it being dark on the bus). At the second stop, my mum stays on the bus and I go out by myself. I’m staring at the stars (no northern lights but the stars alone were INSANE, no light pollution at all). All of a sudden I hear a hello, and then ALL of a sudden I have headphones being put on my head, and then this magical mantra starts playing… I stood there looking up at the stars and this song was on, I memorised the lyrics instantly and it was in my head the whole night afterwards.. We then spoke on the third stop and had a little holiday romance and now we just have eachother on Facebook hahahaha. I don’t know, but the moment was just so magical, and for this to be the song playing it just makes me think about how beautiful life can be and how special these moments really are.. And now I have what feels like a spiritual connection to this song !!
@IaminToMiXing Жыл бұрын
I think this is the chain of association. Your mind remembers things better if you attach multiple senses to it. You hear a song and remember something that happened long ago when you heard that song, or you eat / smell something and remember something else. For example I remember when I was little and we were waiting for my dad with my mum and dad worked late and a storm came and we were sitting in the car and the rain was falling. I remember the song that was playing on the radio even though this could have been like 25 years ago. Lucky for you to see the northern lights. I want to see them as well, on my bucket list. I can imagine this is a special song for you being attached to a special memory.

@@IaminToMiXing I have this with starry night (don mclean) , but not because the setting was so very pittoresque, just by the power of the song - it was very much banality itself where i heard it, but the stark contrast with those lyrics, the way he sings it (no sarcasm, irony, hyperselfawareness) it gets me everytime, and Im not one for sappy 70s songs

You´re english is great, nothing to apologise for. I can relate to your description of how songs can make us feel and help us through tough times. Thank you for sharing that! And this is indeed a beautiful song, mesmerizing and deep, it conquers my defences and opens me up, peeling of those layers of hardened emotional walls that the smith of time has hammered into place around me. And then i plundge into the river by the riverside, never in more need of the enlightened guide. But in the land of blind i stumble on, pass by dear traveler or stay and mourn.

Summer holidays during my schooling i used to spend 2 months in my granny's place. There was beautiful home in the countryside midst of tall rubber trees and river flowing downhill. I used to run along the plantation and to the riverside and throw pebbles into the water, swim in the river and spent so much time alone by myself. There are two emotions of the memory. one happy one of the time i used to spend there another sad, very sad one. after my grandparents died the place has lost the charm. Now when i go i sit by the riverside and think if i can time travel back to that time.

I know no one like myself. INFJ traits.

A few days ago, this song was requested on the Belgian radio station named 'Studio Brussel'. There was a beautiful story behind it; a family that liked to go to some sort of 'vacation park', for children who are very ill. Special care was available all the time. Their little daughter chose that place to die. Despite the undescribable loss and grief, the parents were happy she chose to die at such a beautiful, happy place, where they had such nice memories together. Now everytime I play this song, I think of that girl and her family. Just wanted to share this :-). Good night everyone.

lyrics : Down by the river by the boat Where everybody goes to be alone Where you won't see any rising sun Down to the river we will run When by the water we drink to the dregs Look at the stones on the river bed I can tell from your eyes You've never been by the riverside Down by the water the riverbed Somebody calls you somebody says Swim with the current and float away Down by the river everyday Oh my God I see how everything is torn in the river deep And I don't know why I go the way Down by the riverside When that old river runs pass your eyes To wash off the dirt on the riverside Go to the water so very near The river will be your eyes and ears I walk to the borders on my own To fall in the water just like a stone Chilled to the marrow in them bones Why do I go here all alone Oh my God I see how everything is torn in the river deep And I don't know why I go the way Down by the riverside

Vocals are brilliant as are the lyrics. It has such deep meaning once you understand what's being told.

What is being told?
@JoJoTheYuMan3 жыл бұрын
@@orangegirl247 its metaphorical, see the river as the flow of live. It's about feelings and psychological stuff. If you can't see it, there is no way of explaining.

When I was 14 I had a long distance relationship with a girl from over the pond in the US, she loved this song and said it reminded her of me, loved this artist ever since. Fun fact: She actually came to London 8 years after and we spent 3 days together for this first time and it wasn't great. Sometimes things are just better left as a mystery
