Was interesting to see detailed descriptions and preparations on how to „call upon“ the different signs/planets/bodies spirits/forces, while maintaining (in the conclusion) that Quran/Allah is still the sole source of all power.

Among the most important books translated in this regard are: Ibn Taymiyah's Essay on the Jinn (Demons) by ‎Ibn Taymiyah‎ World of Tthe Jinn and Devils by ‎Umar Al‎-‎Ashqar‎ The Jinn and Human Sickness: Remedies in the Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah by ‎Abu'l Mundhir Khalee

@@messeduplad The magic shirk in the Quran we know is the type that causes harm to separate husband and wife/causes disharmony of human relationships. Meanwhile, the Sufism version(taweez) is for protection from the Jinn. How it works is the same like du'a except they write the ayat on a medium or by verbal if it's something for consumption. Allahualam. Better do some discussion with scholar/sheikh nearby as dwelling something like this without complete knowledge and aqidah is indeed dangerous.

20:28 Jinn and "demon" aren't the same thing in Islam. Why would she phrase it that way? Jinn can be good or bad, and Muslim or non-Muslim, just like humans.
@segan_047
@segan_047 29 күн бұрын
An evil jinn is a demon. Most of the Jinn are demonic anyway. And when it comes to black magic and other occult practices like fortune telling (which is forbidden to practice and a big sin in Islam) it's the demonic of the Jinn that are summoned and involved with such things,not the good ones, if they were good they wouldn't involve themselves in it. There's also no such thing as "good" magic, or "white magic" it's all evil and forbidden. So the Jinn that are doing such practices are the demonic ones from amongst the Jinn, not the God fearing good amongst them. The bad and evil jinn are called devils or demons. Yes humans can be evil too but evil jinn can possess human beings and the Jinn can do things no human being can. If a evil person uses black magic to harm others for example ,they are summoning and asking for help from the bad jinn, the demonic ones, that's why those Jinn are called demons too. Most of the Jinn are evil anyway. She didn't call them that. Thats what they're called. The Arabic phrase is shayateen. It's how they're described in the religion too.
@andrewsuryali8540
@andrewsuryali8540 28 күн бұрын
It's because she's a scholar of Islamicate occultism. In Islamicate occultism, practitioners are paradoxically more strict in their monotheism than the general Islamic world, possibly to stave off questioning glances. In the case of the jinn, Islamicate occultism assigns them the same mechanical functions that Jewish occultists assign to angels and Platonics (and Hermetics) assign to daemons. So in Islamicate occultism there is no difference between the jinn and daemons, and daemons are not "demons" in the sense of evil spirits. The general Islamic world's mythology of jinn and demons don't apply to this system. Dr. Saif is using exactly the terminology she should be. Jinn are daemons in the system.
@scentalya
@scentalya 28 күн бұрын
Because they're not, not really. Jinn are similar in concept to demons, but they are actually more like spirits. They can be good or evil, although it is generally believed they are bad. The Jinn are like elementals, there are 3 types, and are generally associated with the elements. Furthermore, an evil Jinn/Jinnia (female North African Jinn) can be both feared and called upon, the most famous one being Aicha Qandisha. She is the equivalent of a succubus, that attracts young male travelers on the road, and drowns then in a nearby river. But at the same time she is called upon for favours, especially by the Gnawa who are mystics. She makes a distinction because in Arabic a bad spirit/Jinn is called Shaitan, plural is Shayateen. Shayateen are the closest to demons, the Ars Goetia kind. The difference is mostly semantic but also because in Islamic cosmology God created both humans and Jinns and that Jinns aren't fallen angels, or demons like in Christianity, but mostly spirits that dwell in nature, some live in water like Aicha, other in the desert, and others in the air . The prophet is also sent to both humans and Jinns alike.

Great to hear from Dr. Saif, I’ve been following her work for a few years now and it’s safe to say her Picatrix will be the publishing event of the year for me (in whatever year that may occur!) One mild criticism I have - and this is actually aimed in general at the KZbin esoteric community - is the seeming blind spot around German scholarship. Here’s a good example of it: I’ve never heard Martin Plessner’s name mentioned anywhere around here, but his 1962 translation of the Picatrix from the original Arabic of the Gayat Al-Hakim was momentous and followed decades of research and publications. It had a short Forward in English and the level scholarship throughout has not been superseded. It was published as vol 27 of The Studies of the Warburg Institute. It was based on the first scholarly edition of the original Arabic text, edited by Helmut Ritter and published already in 1933 as vol XII of the Studien der Bibliothek Warburg.

@н.джед.т Ай бұрын
@duckgoat7570 Have you read the Picatrix? In large part it is based on "The Nabatean Agriculture", a book about spells and practices that were ancient when the Picatrix was written. If you want to adopt the application of techniques from the Bronze Age (but not, notably, adopting the ideology & theory of the Nabatean) to creating real-world effects, you're welcome to do so. Me, I'll stick with what we've learned in the 3000 years since, I'll take antivenom to reverse scorpion stings and proxemics and catfishing to do love spells, lidar for buried treasure. It's only in the areas where we've neglected or even thrown away scholarship that going back that far has practical value... I'm not saying there's no area where magic might be of use, but I wouldn't do it, myself. Where it works it's in spite of the theory and grimoires, in my opinion, and where it doesn't work it is absolutely rock-bottom dangerous. A good example, oft cited, is some of the traps in that book. In particular, there are a few places where it describes creating elixirs for ensuring the secrecy of buildings and laboratories for the work. The idea is you give these potions to the workmen that built it, and they probably would do that job of keeping it secret. The potions use rancid almonds in such a way as to concentrate the arsenic, which would if prepared as the book suggests kill anyone drinking it. That would indeed keep the site a secret-- but I think there might be better mechanisms to do it, personally. Way I see it, difference between prayer and magic is that prayer is preparing yourself for the universe, and magic preparing the universe to fit you. There's some overlap, but I think it's a mistaken practice in general, one where the best outcome you can hope for is for it to be ineffective. If it works, you've generally just compounded the problem. Science & engineering, medicine & mechanisms, these are a lot more forgiving that way, in my opinion -- and better regulated. I like the FDA making sure my potion makers are putting into my elixirs what they say, and that those concoctions do what they're supposed to. And I'll fly with either an airplane or ketamine, depending on the context, rather than looking for witch's sabbath. But that's my choice, you can make your own decisions.

Mysticism/magic is not necessarily "black," or even "dark," but I agree- BANGER CONTENT. Occult/esoteric is hidden, for a reason, but not malevolent, unless that is one's intent, for whatever reason. This channel rocks. ❤❤❤

Ok, so…😅 I was walking around town and viewing this video on my phone, with headphones on. I was at the explanation of the “love dolls”. A bird shat on my right forearm, in which i was holding my phone. I stoped to asses the “damage”, and as I was looking down I saw a textile doll, a pink Power Ranger, face down. It was in the autumn leaves at the curd of the road. Can someone go play by play on how all of this works? Thank you 🙏

That’s scary I don’t want anything to do with it anymore lol - even though no one really knows how the planets know so much about you just from the date and time you was born! Its Fascinating!

Dealing with magic has always been considered, and still is, a major sin by all schools of Islamic jurisprudence, as far as I know. Therefore, the author's decision to remain anonymous was likely more about his involvement with magic than about the Islamic schools of jurisprudence or creeds. While some view all forms of magic and talismans as major sins and acts of shirk or at least charlatanism (a belief I personally hold as a Muslim), others distinguish between "righteous" magic and blasphemous magic. This distinction is evident in the author's writings, where he attempt to reconcile traditional Islamic beliefs with his magical practices, justifying them as non-polytheistic and for "righteous magicians". This belief persists today. For example, in Morocco, where I am from, there is a similar distinction between righteous and evil magicians, similar to the concept of white and black magic. Additionally, in Moroccan Arabic, the word fqih can refer to a magician (whether good or bad) in addition to its primary meanings of an imam or religious scholar. In this context, a magician might first study Islamic subjects to become a fqih, then learn "righteous" magic. However, if they go astray, they may delve into "polytheistic" magic, which involves summoning and commanding malicious jinn. Of course, these magicians are charlatans that don't believe in what they practice and are just extracting money from people who believe in that. Similar to what psychics and energy healers do in the west. While the philosophical and anthropological aspects are interesting, we must not forget the social aspects and how magic practices are used to exploit people.

The problem with interpreting a occult text is that you have to adopt the perspective which the writer or occult order is on. That perspective is not always clear. I have been obsessed on the subject of the occult and the common theme you will see is about initiation which covers what i just said. Occult magic heavily relies on the mental faculities which is the reason why initiation is neccessary. This is often symbolized with death and rebirth. The number one aspect of occult magical practice is BELIEF. Belief is the limiter to any thing even outside of the context of occult magic. Based on my perspective i view occult magic as a form of hypnotism aka suggestion. Of course im viewing this from the outside so i cannot prove or disprove any of the other specific details a practicioner would be using. So if you look through this with a mentalist's lense you see that it is possible this may be real what they claim is. Through a materialist's lense its not possible at all.

This video certainly ensures that Filip and his understanding of Islam is learnt , not practiced. Practicing Islam and its understanding is much different than someone just reading Quran and other Islamic books. I don’t know what is Occult or so called Esoteric about Islamic knowledge . Every Islamic knowledge derived from Quran and Hadith . There are some practice of Talisman or Tabiz (hang on your neck or tie around arm with some code ) are something has much different level of understanding. This comment section is not ideal for an encyclopedia for that. I certainly see how Narrator quickly taking those Islamic teaching in a mistaken path. I don’t blame Filip. 99% Muslim has no idea what is remedy of Quran and Islamic teaching but practicing different Dua, Saying etc. Islam literally have dua or specific chat for everything from eating to urinating, everything. It’s not what your say , rather it’s what you practice. Muslim life is not what you do , it’s what is your intention and will behind that doing. Doing charity can take you to heaven or hell depending on your will or intention of it . Similarly saying certain dua / pretexted saying can make you successful

In Muslim world, when copying or translating instructions of any magic, one or more essential words are dropped or changed to prevent magic to be used by any evil person. Only a true master of magic can understand what is missing and how to complete it. As a result, none of the contemporary versions of the magic books really work. I just wonder whether this new translation will follow the same tradition or not?
