The greatest name in Bass fishing. "Ott Defoe" I like the Helsinki Shad color in DT6 or Red craw. Just that extra foot has made a difference in the size of Bass. That I have been catching. Texas rigged Red Shad wrinkle tail plastic worm. Two red beads and A 1/4 tungsten bullet weight on a 3/0 EWG worm hook. In this 110 heat index you must hydrate ahead of time. Stay away from coffee, cola's and those high caffeine drinks. I drink half Lemonade / and powerade. Followed by 2 bottles of water. Sometimes to much straight water makes me sick to my stomach in all that heat. The Whopper Plopper in The "Loon" color in the 90 size has been a great topwater bait. Thanks Ott! I live in Indiana I take your ideas and adjust them a little. Give God all the Glory! His way! In His time! 👋 Shawn.

Your last point is so important about the water. I see so many of my fishing friends drinking 7 up or Mountain Dew or something like that rather than rather than water and then they wonder why they get a headache. Just plain cool or cold water water is ideal for a long time spent out on the water. Sometimes I will have in addition to all my water a bottle of lemon ice tea. But only one bottle of that for every 6 or 8 bottles of water.

Noticed how you rig up your drop shot with the sinker line tied to the hook . Great idea.

Yes Ott July can be brutal and here in Oklahoma but I do like your idea of jumping in and cooling off, but I dude love me some crank baits never have done drop shot a lot still learning, but do have a question on drop shot, on your drop shot weight is it best just to clip it on your line with a short tag or should you tie a knot at the end of the line before clipping the weight on ? Always love seeing your videos great advice every month, thank you

I like the kind to tie on. They don’t sling off as often.

Cause it’s dark 😂. I used to but I just haven’t in a long time. Not because the fish don’t bite just messes up my sleep too bad!
