"Pick of the Day" - 2018 Fender Nocaster and Tweed '57 Custom Champ Amp

A Nocaster and a tweed Champ? It's also affordable? Well that's because today we have a pair of fantastic reissues that are sure to please. The Nocaster is a super lightweight guitar coming in at just under 7lbs with a nice chunky neck and a great pair of Twisted Tele pickups This instrument is a joy to play, and is in just about new condition right down to the COA, case, ashtray and all! The little '57 Custom Champ amp is in similar condition as they came from the same owner - no visible wear, all of the documentation and cover, and these little guys sing! Handwired, 5w, an 8" Weber alnico speaker, and classic tweed looks - not much more to ask for in such a small combo.

I think the relic ready fenders are supposed to be totally clean coming out of the shop, but have super thin nitro finishes that will wear very nicely with your own wear.

jose vasquez I’ve got that amp. It’s got to be a bad tube/valve. Lots of videos here about diagnosis and fixes. Hope you still got it ✌️

It’s the 6V6 most likely. (The middle tube). If not, take the back panel off and make sure that there aren’t any bolts or solder clumps sitting in the chassis. (Don’t touch the caps (the big blue ones) as they can carry a charge even unplugged). Go through and make sure any screws or nuts and bolts are snug (not super tight. Just snug). And then replace the 6V6 with a Mullard reissue and the rattle will be gone. Until the 6V6 starts rattling again lol. It

@@jvbluesville3426 I had the same issue. Turns out the back panel was touching some parts in the amp causing the rattle. I just put a match on each side to raise it away from components and put the panel back on and it fixed it immediately. Best amp I ever had.

Bluesy Samurai NAO I just got a Fender Blues Jr 4, my first Tube Amp and I started playing guitar when Kurt Cobain was alive. My advice to you: do it. You deserve it and nothing sounds like a tube amp. Life is too short for neighbours to keep you from experiencing the magic of a classic Fender tube amp.

Dan Pritchett Typical modern Telecaster at that. It seems like even the Custom Shop rarely does the vintage neck radius anymore.

@@charlesbolton8471 I have a 2006 CS '51 Nocaster with 7.25" radius, Nocaster Pickups and "Blend" control: it's a fantastic guitar, not the typical modern Tele for sure... ;)

mrkite89 I know Custom Shop and the American Vintage Reissues used to always be to vintage spec. It seems like now you have to do a Custom order to even get from the Custom Shop unless you happen to find a dealer that specs out a few that way.

Because 5 people on Earth prefer the rainbow 7.25. Modern telecasters have skinny necks. Poly finishes. 3-5 piece bodies and ceramic pickups as well as a neck truss rod hole. The only distinguishable difference between this custom shop and an original is the fret radius and size as well as 2 wires in the circuit.

@@always12am52 if you want modern radius then get a modern guitar. When selling a vintage reissue then make the dam thing vintage all the way. Even if it’s for only 5 guys!!!
