Tips for people in the heatwave: 1. airflow. if you have your ac going in a closed space, its not going to be as efficient if you open your door slightly to let the hot air out. (edit: this only applies to portable ac units, NOT ac coming from the vents of your house) 2. water inside and outside your body. drink lots of water, but also try dunking your feet in cold water, get a cold washcloth and putting it on your arms, hands, neck, armpits, back, or anywhere else that feels extra warm or has lots of blood vessels close to the surface. you could even get your shirt or pants wet and wear them around the house as long as youre not ruining anything with the moisture. 3. electrolytes. trail mixes and foods high in specific elements like bananas are best, but if you have sports drinks, those are alright too 4. watch out for your pets. know the signs of heat stroke and heat stress in your animals and make sure they're drinking water (but never force them to drink, since this can cause them to choke, just put clean water near them). call your vet immediately if they show signs of heat stroke. stay safe ❤
