This is a sidebar lock. GMuses them in all there vehicles. All the wafers are on one side in ignitions. There are nine of them spaces 2-10. The lock you took out of this car locks like an after market lock.. You don't need this kit. A key cut in 1-4 depths will pick it. I'm an automotive locksmith.

What if you put inside the ignition? I know for sure it wasn’t a depth key sir sure.. I’m licensed locksmith just starting tough.... nice video by the way!!

I have the key, but the bar does not raise up anymore. It slowly got worse and now won't turn at all. Was able to shim the bar up and turn it part of the way, but it gets stuck just about where the dash lights come on.

Bob Bobson if you turned it part of the way so you should be able to turn in to starting point. If it doesn’t turn further than the accessory position/lights on position than the housing inside behind the ignition there is a plastic gear down inside and that could be broken. Something you cannot fix, but it is rare.
