I opened severas Master Combination locks over the years. But this particular lock I tried so many methods. The Backwards method worked I was Surprised thanks dude

Great - well done! ... yea some of those locks just wont play ball in one direction. Once you have the combination of the backwards way, it's possible to mathematically work out the combination of the normal way.

Oh my gosh, thank you for this video. I watched a bunch of other videos (including a couple of yours) but the trick I needed was the rotate it backwards to find your number. Going the normal way I just couldn't figure it out: it was either too loose or too tight. But going backwards I could get one 'tick' so I knew the number. Had to continue with the 'backwards' method to get them all, and then do the math to reverse it, but it all came out good. Totally appreciate the video! Well done. (And yes, it was a standard Master Lock that one of my kids had been using for years; now they're off at college, no one could remember the combo; not a problem any more.)

Thank you mate! :D :D I've done some videos on Abus dial combos too ... does your one have an override key lock? Abus ones are more difficult to decode than Master lock ones. For Abus sometimes you get a stuck number & sometimes not, and sometimes you get multiple stuck numbers, and you don't add 5 (or anything) to them. Thank you for watching & commenting mate! :D

Master Lock with a key insert in the back-help! No idea of the combo and no key. I have attempted to pick the lock but has tiny keyway. Great video!! Thanks for the tips. I had a combination lock and figured it out after watching one of your previous videos. My nephew didn’t believe I figured it out so he bought me a new combination lock to try. It really confused me because the second number was 00. I just couldn’t believe 00 was a number so it took me a bit longer but I got it open. Have you ever heard of a combination lock with a number 00?

LOL that's funny! - well done for decoding your locks! :D :D Was it a Master lock you did it on? Yes 00 can definitely be a number, and I own some that have 00 as one of the numbers. It all depends on where the (true) gaps are on the 3 disks. For the 2nd number I tend not to assume anything and try all the every-second numbers. Thanks mate! :D :D

Most often , i'll take them home and try to figure out their combinations . So far, only a few have given me a hard time figuring out their combo secrets..especially the ones that have multiple sticky points. Thanks again.

This video covers some advanced techniques that build on some of my previous videos (see the ones in the description). Most of the time the non-advanced methods will work, but this video is "just in case" it still doesn't work. It also it assumes you're already familiar with the earlier videos and so it glosses over the fundamentals, so I'd recommend checking those first.

None of these videos explain how the lock picker knows he is finding 'The first number' or 'The third number.' There is no reason to think you can call any number 'The first number' unless you knew the code in advance.

The combination will be only in one order, and a different order wont open the lock. When I talk about finding the 3rd number, it's the last number in the final combination. Am I not understanding what you mean?

@@MrPeterpott For Master locks, when I use that method, the number that sticks the most tends to be the first number. I think this is due to the physics of the discs being stacked on top of each other, and so some of them get caught under tension more easily than other. Your first number should be 2 and your third number should be 22. Your second number should be an even digit. You should turn the dial several times clockwise (like three full turns) and stop on 2, and then one full turn counter-clockwise to your 2 again but keep going until you get to your second number, and then turn clockwise to 22 (and it should open if you went to the correct second number). Try all the even second numbers.
