really appreciate the fact that there still no ads on the tribe and vault video's. Love the choice
@WhiskeyTribe6 жыл бұрын
thanks! but it's the patreon supporters that make no-ads possible. the only downside is the handful of youtube features we can't use because the channels aren't monetized. still, i think no-ads is definitely a good choice right now.
@WhiskeyTribe6 жыл бұрын
also, if you ever see an ad here - a 3rd party made a copyright claim. most likely music. most likely bogus. we just don't have time to challenge it.

As a certified Sommelier with previous experience in wine production I find Whiskies finished in wine casks (such as Longrow) fascinating. I hope this makes your whisky really interesting. By the way, I sampled the Eleanor at the Scotch Test Dummies 5th Anniversary celebration, it was REALLY tasty!

Erik Wait In that case, you should try Penderyn Madeira. It’s produced in Wales and, as the name suggests, is finished in Madeira wine casks. It’s currently one of my favourites

Erik Wait Fair enough. I wasn’t sure how widely known it was, considering it’s not from one of the “big” whisky countries. What did you think of it?
@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies6 жыл бұрын
@@Fidgottio In 2016 I got into whisky while studying for the Unit 4 exam on spirits for the Wine & Spirited Educational trust (WSET). I wasn't expecting to fall in love with whisky, but while tasting The Macallan 12 I caught the whisky bug. So, I ordered 104 minis from the UK which included the Penderyn. Afterwards I became a certified Whisky Ambassador and then traveled to Kentucky to visit 6 distilleries and then Scotland to study whisky and tour 20 distilleries. I can't say that I was overly impressed with the Penderyn, BUT it was very early in my whisky journey. To give a more accurate assessment, I'd need to taste it again as my understanding and appreciation of whisky has definitely progressed over the past two years.

My buddy owners a vineyard in NY. Borghese vineyards and I’m trying to find the right barrels to buy from him to make my own legacy barrel. It’s to be filled on my wedding day with my choice of un-aged whiskey and we are going to pull from it on milestone dates. Anniversary. Kid gratuations. Weddings. That climate up here in New England really always the wine to soak into these barrels. It’s such cold dry winters and hot humid summers. I wish you luck my friends.
