Sean the house is coming along nicely. You’re doing pretty good considering that you work plus still do things in the summertime. Remember to keep extra tiles as you never know when a tile will break. Put the extra ones well away where you won’t come across them. Murphy’s law is if you have the tiles you won’t break them but sure as heck if you don’t have extra they will break. I love tile all over the house. Easy to care for and with a little extra care so you don’t break them they will last a long time. I do like when you give us some views of Alaska. I am from Canada so lots of that rustic scenery is like home. I find most of the scenery very relaxing. Keep taking pictures.

Regarding water... Check this video "Best off-grid cabin I've ever toured- SEE WHY". Look at timestamp 8:00 in that video. The guy has his house located on a top of a well and a hand pump installed right on a countertop. Seems to be a nice idea.

Everyday is a good day above ground... Sean you make it look too easy! Just wondering if you've thought about having the door swing outwards to make more room for the interior?
@deepsouthalabama21495 ай бұрын
@@xqzmeartdesign284 I may be wrong but if the door swings out and you get a heavy snow it would be hard to open and be a safety hazard.

Hello Sean I was told that you have to get your plants in the dirt by June that’s what my friends in willow Alaska told me it’s a short growing season have a great weekend sean I hope you had a good Fourth of July have from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎

The rule here seems to be...do not plant the tender ones before June 1st...we still had frost in late may.

Sean, you can use whatever width tile spacers you want in conjunction with the "Orange Store" leveling system. They will still do what they are supposed to do. I've done it many times on many jobs when I can't find the levelers of the width I want. Honestly though, given how small your square footage is, the leveling isn't really necessary. Just find your "high spot" and start there. That way you can just use a thicker layer of mortar as you get to the lower spots. BTW.. If you lose viewers because you're taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful place you live in then those viewers aren't worth worrying about.
@SeanInAlaska5 ай бұрын
Oh! Great point on the high spot! And I 100% agree on the lost views 😉

Great video Sean! My wife stills talks about moving there. What month will you need to start heating the cabin with your new wood heater? When tiling I have always preferred small grout lines for a couple of reasons, easier to keep clean and less likely to crack.
@SeanInAlaska5 ай бұрын
I usually fire up the heater by late September here. I was thinking the same thing on the grout lines lol
