The heat issues I've been reading people are concerned about, comes from the engine, not the exhaust. Not bad in the winter time, but down here in fla. In the summer, itll cook you when you come to a stop. They do make a heat shield kit which helps a little . I see a lot of people wearing shorts riding their bikes. You do that on a panigale, and you'll blister your inner thighs.

I've got 2013 1199R. Basically the same bike as you got there. One main difference is the R has a aluminum fuel tank. Not sure if yours has the ABS. I also have the full termignoni exhaust. The auto quickshift is only on upshifts on the 2013 year. Same suspension, same electronics and procedure on setting different modes. Moral of my story... I can relate to your excitement on this bike. I felt and feel the same way every time I get on it. Wish I had your mileage. I'm pushing 13 thousand on the odometer. Valve adjustment, and belt changes coming up at 15 thousand. I've been saving for that 25 hundred dollar bill coming up.

The integrated turn signals on the R3 look good but are less safe.. if u want to stick to that set up I would recommend u get a handle bar end blinkers as well... also congrats on the new bike man 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻... it's my dream bike..

Jaret.. just a quick comment about the flush mount TST signals on her R3. I bought the same ones for my fiance's R3 - they look really good and bad ass, etc., however - you CANNOT see them AT ALL in the sunlight.. I'm talking ZERO. Take that bike out in the sun, turn on the signal (stand in the front) and I guarantee you can't even tell it's on. These signals need to be 3x brighter than they are. Of course the concerns is (for a new rider) she will not be seen nor will other motorists know she's turning. I even called TST about this and they basically blew me off saying, "Well, they are what they are." There is a little more brightness with these from the direct side of the signal... but that's useless for oncoming traffic. I am actually going to take these TST signals off and find something that looks much better (than the OEM hideous, huge YAMAHA signals) and replace them with something you can actually see (it's a safety issue). I am honestly shocked that TST would even produce such a poor quality LED signal that you cannot even see. But - of course at night they are fine. I'd be curious to know what you think.

I would say use the Sony mic when you're by yourself because it has the better quality, but use the sena mic for when you're in a group because it's worth sacrificing some quality for the group conversation aspect.

The mic setup: check out Jake the garden snakes recent video about his setup. He puts the sena back pack on a secondary camera that faces him while he rides and then has the original mic setup on his helmet go pro. Then if he has a friend on the intercom he can overlay their audio from the second camera over the better audio from the original go pro mic setup since that one provides better background noise (exhaust, wind etc). Second pro to this is that if one audio is faulty you may have a backup. Not to mention the dynamic of adding a second camera angle to your videos and the positives that brings to production quality. Keep up the good work!
@JaretCampisi7 жыл бұрын
dear god thats a lot of work lol. It is a great idea though. Appreciate the feedback. I'm thinking I'll use my normal mice when I'm by myself and just use the sena with others to get the full conversations for you guys :)

You should ask your dealer if integrated tailights are now illegal in PA BECAUSE Karns on trindle road in Mechanicsburg said I needed to ad turn signals cuz integrated they won't pass inspection.

My husband & I have been using the Sena with the audio backpack for a while for our Vids/Volgs. Works great 60% of the time. Often you will hear a loud crackle / popping noise that will show up in your Vids. That is a bummer! The video will be unusable as it is so loud. Other than that , it's a nice set up.

Jaret Campisis, I've been riding and racing since I was a small child and must say don't move too quickly. I've had Gsxr1000, hayabusa, 1299, s1000rr etc and will tell you that you are not ready for a bike that big, in fact you will progress much faster on a smaller bike and learn true corner speed and control due to the lack of power on a small bike. On a liter bike you have power to cover your mistakes and will never learn. Don't fall into the ego trap of a liter bike. You should be riding a 300 if you actually care about skill. Good Luck. Keep the 600 and get a 300 to practice on. Almost all of the experts start on 125, 250cc machines. Get the 300 and go to the canyons and than smoke guys on liter bikes once u learn proper technique !

Awesome, the HD Roadster! I know you've talked about this before, but would you recommend that roadster or a monster 797 (or even an 821 with urban mode having the same HP as the 797 at 75hp) as a first bike? But seriously, I think the secret to your success and happiness is not so much the materialistic possessions you have (though we are all hella envious), but the relationships you have with your friends and family, especially your GF that has no price that could be set onto it as it's so invaluable. Take care! Oh and quick question: Would you rather get a Monster 1200R (or even the new 1200 S with the DQS that the R doesn't come with) or the Panagale 959?
@JaretCampisi7 жыл бұрын
thank you mean I really appreciate the kind words :) And if you're talking a first bike I honestly don't think I'd recommend any of the ducati's. They are much more difficult to ride than all of the other brands and very expensive to fix if you drop them. IF money isn't an issue then possibly a monster 821 could be ok if kept in a low power mode while you were getting comfortable with it.
