A lot of Raptor guys call removing the judder springs from the clutch the "full fiber mod." (I just did it to the top quad 😁) That guys got a really nice facility and its awesome that he explained everything he did and why. LS footage looks like its going to be epic af!!! Good job Pete!🤘🤘🤘

Yes, full fiber mod plus extra plate is what he has as well as slightly stiffer springs. That clutch will hook up 75hp all day long and it is a drop in kit. After 80hp we recommended a lock up clutch.

Very nice upgrade that is some useable power, keeping that compression low is holding back a lot of pony’s once you go with a bigger piston and some better fuel easy in mid 60’sHP raptors make lots of power easy but I’ll make them work hard before it can try and get out in front of me. but overall good upgrade!! 👍🏽 sounds like I hear some long travel coming in soon!!! Always enjoy watching your videos.

Yes, his build with bigger piston, better fuel and bored throttle body would be next step. That package makes about 72 to 74hp on the ones we have built.

Love your videos and thats a nice dyno room, but just curious why you haven’t dealt with any of the Raptor 700 specialists, Cuervo or Racers Edge AZ. Almost everyone knows that 10:1 compression ratio is stock for that year and 11:1 would have been better suited for that build on pumped gas. I’ve seen stock valve ported heads produce 70hp

I’m in Minnesota and those builders are significantly further away. Plus Jay has built tons of Raptors and I know he’s worked with Cuervo as well. I’m probably going to catch heat for this comment but I have a question. The 700 made a little over 50 hp, I could be wrong but I thought 450s make around 45ish hp - kind of close to a 700. I’m sure torque is very different. Thoughts?
@ajbertelson98714 жыл бұрын
Did he give any idea of why it went out? It had 100hrs on it and you changed oil every 5-8. So......
@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL4 жыл бұрын
If I had to guess it may have been the tune from Chuck with CFM Motorsports, just an educated guess because Hager has cams on the quad and it's still making around the same from when Chuck had it tuned, without upgraded cam, which means that extra power came from somewhere so it may have been too lean (giving extra power, but unsafe) on Chuck's tune. My Raptor should have went out way before Hager's because on my channel I primarily drag race and I'm nearly always 100% into the throttle and I'm sure I've changed the oil less often than him as well so if my crank bearing is good at 150 hrs then his should have been good. But at the same token every engine is different but that would just be my guess.
@CORNYOTE4 жыл бұрын
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL everyone is always quick to blame a tuner. so you’re telling me it ran fine for how long before it all the sudden decided to go lean? I have a hard time believing it’s tune related. There’s a lot of moving parts to fail in a motor.
@PeteHager4 жыл бұрын
By no means was this Chucks fault. The numbers we had on his dyno aren’t definitive. If any thing it over read and your standard big 3 will be in the high 40’s to low 50’s for hp. The machine had between 125-150 hours and a lot of those hours were high speed in 4th and 5th gear riding ditches. When Jay tore down the engine he said he didn’t find any abnormal wear. The only suggestive culprit could have been running yamalube but I’m not about to start the oil debate. Jay said the engine was tired and due for a refresh. I honestly wasn’t very surprised since I’m not very nice to it most of the time. It’s interesting so many people care about why it failed. Some motors last longer than others. There’s too many factors involved like how it’s ridden, maintained, and upgraded to blame one specific thing👍
@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL4 жыл бұрын
@@CORNYOTE often times you'll see failures after a quad is modified, I've been in the industry for a very long time since I was a young boy and from life experience that's where I've seen most failures. If you keep a quad in the stock form oftentimes they'll just go and go and go until one day you decide to bump the compression back up by adding a new piston and rings. Being that he went with the big 3 I highly doubt that that was too much power for the engine as we all know that those engines are capable of nearly 70 or 80 horsepower on a stock crank. So with that being said the only educative guess I had was perhaps the tune was out of whack, but by no means was I saying that that was in fact the case.
@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL4 жыл бұрын
@@PeteHager by no means was I saying your engine blew up due to Chuck. I was just saying the tune may have been a factor. I think so many people are interested in the failure of this motor because the Raptor is known for its longevity and is by far one of the longest-lasting motors on the market and to see a failure on such a young motor is very intriguing to most of us.
