Had me fooled Troy. I thought we'd be hearing AWB. This is a real nice cover, as always. Happy Friday!

The chorus reminds me of 'Silly Love Songs' by Wings. It's probably nothing like! Just my addled old brain.

I thought I was a Squeeze fan but never heard of this album. Why didn't they just call it Squeeze? Great video!

Sounds awesome Troy! The MBJ just sounds so good and punchy. Do you like your action high or low? You have a pretty aggressive attack at times but doesn't sounds like there's too much fret buzz, especially on the higher frets.

Thanks a lot! The bass, essentially, has Spector guts (pickups/preamp). I like my action as low as I can get it and I look for a certain amount of fret buzz... so long as it's distributed evenly up and down the neck. I've lowered the action a bit since this video. I'd say that I have a fairly "medium" attack. I used to have a much heavier hand, but I learned how (by straightening the neck and lowering the action) to make my bass sound like I'm beating on it without actually beating on it. I've played a few of my friend's, Adam, basses and he has a pretty heavy hand, but his action is much lower than mine. When I play his basses the notes just choke out. Last time he was here I got to the bottom of it. He plucks "up"... not quite "fish-hooking", but plucks so the strings vibrate more from side to side. I tend to pluck down... towards the body of the bass, so the strings tend to vibrate a bit more up and down.
