how could she say cavemen had no emotions, they're us.
@barbaro2679 жыл бұрын
+savage1493 If you believe in evolution, emotions like romantic love and charity don't actually exist because, in the eyes of evolutionists and naturalists, we're just animals acting on survival instincts. She's probably going at it from that view. Too bad she's dead wrong in thinking that humans are part of the "machine" that animals and plants are a part of.

+barbaro267 There are a thousand things wrong with that comment, but I'll stick to this: 'Evolutionist' as a word is ridiculous. It's like a flat-earth theorist labelling the rest of us as sphericists, and thinking that's fine. If something becomes a commonly held belief, we stop using those dubiousness-indicating words
@NorthWindStudios8 жыл бұрын
But it's not a commonly held belief. In seconds I just looked up a study that said 49 percent of Americans believed in creationism. What else are you supposed to say, anyways? You're a "Nature-ist"? How is evolution a bad word in any way?

I agree with Gavin's logic that "if it didn't affect a caveman, then it's not that important" but only to a certain degree. Like if a caveman had a cell phone and he lost it, he probably wouldn't care about it cause he has no real use for it. But if you lost your phone, it'd be a really big deal to you cause you use it for a lot of things and aspects of your life

@@shooterDisease you are all wrong, no matter how important you think your cell phone is, it is not food, or water and requires electricity to operate, you dont need a phone to be in contact and socialie with your tribe, and realistically you only need your body, no clothes, no tools, nothing, you just need your body. that is gavins point and you all missed the point completely As a human on eatth even now in 2021, you will not die without a phone, i repeat, you WILL NOT DIE without your phone
@Druid-T3 жыл бұрын
@@Knifykat And you completely missed that no one said *Necessary*, just *Important*, and you are the only one who treats those two as mutually inclusive. A child's favourite stuffed animal isn't necessary, as eventually they will stop using it, but that doesn't make it not important. Or for a more personal example: Your favourite food isn't necessary to your survival, and you could never eat it again and be completely fine, but it can still be important to you. Something can still hold value, but not be critical to your survival

Run down a mountain theory: at the very least, a caveman would understand that cliffs are dangerous, and that falling from a big height could kill you. Fashion a small ramp out of wood, and experiment by dropping a rock from a relatively small cliff. Show the caveman that the rock's falling speed can be gradually slowed down depending on the angle of the ramp. Coin flipping argument: Find a round flat rock (or similar object) that, when thrown into the air, either lands on one side or the other. If possible, mark one side of the rock so that it is easy to distinguish from the other side. Show the caveman that there are two possible outcomes when the rock is "flipped". Draw a little tree diagram in the dirt showing all the possible results for three "flips" (8 possible outcomes), and explain that, in only one of these possible outcomes, the marked side of the rock will land face up three times. If the rock that you've found is balanced well enough (so that it's close enough to 50/50 marked/unmarked), you can even conduct a series of trial runs, where you flip your rock three times and tally up the results that you get.
