Pickup a 58 Ford pickup, work on a 46 Dodge pickup and sort some junk in the yard

Just a random video around the yard, we pickup a truck bound for the scrap yard a 58 Ford pickup. Organize my old car pile looking for an old Gantry, and do some work on the wife's 46 Dodge Pickup.

1st time commenting from Maine. Drill tap zerk fitting up at front just below yoke dump tube and half maybe 2 tube grease and run it against vibration grease will go and stay where it needs to. Voila! Internally balanced. Old circle track hack.

I once was the second owner of a 1960 Ford short fleetside bed pickup 292 V-8 3spd. w/overdrive. Factory black w/ black & white interior. No rust & installed an updated 3spd. synchronized and 4:11 rear gears and a total rebuild of the 292 and a 57 T-bird four-barrel intake a Holley carb. Wish I still had it.

I sure like the dodge! My wife really enjoys cruising in the Fargo. My bubble balancer is now a coffee table. But its there if i need it. The 70’s 1/2 ton diff in my truck is almost too wide.

thats a 1960 front grill on that Ford pickup. The parts are interchangable from 1957 to 1960. Could be a 1960 front on a 1958. Love those Ford pickups, nicknamed Fridge, because they look like old refrigerators of the same era.

The VIN is located on top of the right frame back by the front cab mount, they are hard to see with the fenders and cab on the frame. All your videos are great,, you could keep me watching even if it was about you and the dogs wandering aimlessly through the yard.

The Ford could be 58 - 60 I think. Hey, I’ve always liked junkyards. My dad would take me to them when he went and I was able to roam around them for a while just to take it all in. 😳 I love going to them, but I want to always bring some things home with me. I don’t always have room to store stuff. Once I brought home a 1962 GMC Crackerbox. The old Dodge is cool, too. Good stuff! 😎

I watched the build of The General binge watched it like it was a Netflix series. You are so awesome and I am glad you take old cars and trucks and give them another life instead of them going to the crusher. I was so disgusted a few years ago when they had the "clunker" bill so that running or potentially running cars and trucks were crushed and couldn't be sold once they went to the salvage yard.

Late sixties bought two tires from a store almost like Kmart and they sent a guy out to my house to balance the tires. He balanced them vertically. When he was done he took out a small lace hankie and put it off the center line and the tire moved that direction, then he put it on the other side of center and it moved that direction. Never seen that done before or since.

The grill is a 60. Vin should have been in the glove box but I saw it had been removed when you opened it. Vin will be on the top of the frame on the passenger side just behind the front axle.
