I've got a HZJ105R here in Australia. 380,000km's. Planning on driving the 6 Continents this year. May not get thru Asia. Will be dropping in to Salt Lake City to visit. Considering leaving the truck there as it needs a good home. Let me know if you want it.

30:40 this truck is originally a DAIHATSU, Toyota had Daihatsu build them with a Toyota badge not many were built for Toyota, you can see them all over South America and Colombia In hundreds of thousands since 1977 til1984, today Toyota owns 100 percent of daihatsu.

I've never seen a diesel Toyota in the United States. I worked at a Toyota dealership in Georgia for awhile and was told as far as anyone knew Toyota never sold diesels on the American market. Supposedly you could get them used thru Canadian, Mexican and South American sources. When I worked at Toyota they didn't even have Land Cruisers or LX series of Lexus in stocks. Always wondered why Toyota Hilux or diesels were not made available in the United States.

@@bgarrison67 These were all imports IIRC. Likely just not popular enough in the U.S. to justify the R&D costs to bring it over and modify it for the U.S. market and emission standards.

Its honestly insulting Toyota even has these vehicles in a museum. Just another way of them saying "we will never produce an actual reliable vehicle ever again" my 1st gen tundra and pretty much all landcruisers run perfect after 23 years. But nope, no more reliable Toyota
