Really enjoyed this video. First time that I have heard anyone explain what P, I and D mean. Would really enjoy a video that explained all of the quadcopter terminology . Many of us have very limited knowledge. Please explain what you mean by oscillation, prop wash and all of the other terms that many new people don't understand. Also I really like your freestyle videos where I can actually see the quad in flight. How many dreamy music flying videos can one person watch? After a while they all look the same. Keep up the great work. Who was Mr. Steel?

That’s the one tuning issue I had with my betaflight f4. I had those really weird, inconsistent, low frequency bounce backs after flips and rolls.

I thought the quad also needed p to have the "power" to controll the propwash, as well as d-gain. But you Say it is worse at handling the propwash the more p you give it?
@pippifpv7 жыл бұрын
Really great pid tuning tutorial by the way
@TheRCAddict7 жыл бұрын
Well to a certain degree yes, but too high of P causes over corrections which make propwash worse.
@pippifpv7 жыл бұрын
The RCAddict ohhh. That makes sense. Thx. Then raising d-gain counters the bad p-propwash oscilations, when it gets too high? Right?

I mean pretty much every quad is going to have some propwash, especially a heavier 3inch. Best thing to do as you grow as a pilot is to fly around these things by turning and avoid your own wash more.

Great vid. Does it make a difference in tuning when it’s cold because you could have oscillations when he soft mounts on the flight controller get hard?
@TheRCAddict7 жыл бұрын
Yes, as well as the air density is different. It is usually not a large amount of difference, but summer vs winter tunes certainly is a thing.
@shawnpatrickblue94946 жыл бұрын
Good job how does your winter tunes fare in the summer when it starts getting hot are you having to. Do a retune. I know batt is henderd but what about the rest Keep kickin ass your the man Thank you
@TheRCAddict6 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the gains come down a little, since the air is less dense when it's warm, thus neededing less PID compensation.

Great video, quick question, With having NF1 and NF2 off along with D gains in the upper 30s you never seemed concerned about hot motors or feeling them. Is that because it was 10 degrees out or because you just don’t feel it’s necessary. Thanks for making the video BTW

You would hear the oscillations before running into any issues. I started to get them towards the end so I lowered them, but I have dynamic filtering on and am not really worries about it no. Would need to really crank them up to smoke anything on new betaflight.

@TheRCAddict7 жыл бұрын
Well just increase it slowly and test in short flights. You will notice bad things before it smokes if you are getting too high. For me here watching the HD footage towards the end I could hard a lot of oscillations in the camera audio, so I backed down the P and D gains and they went away.

@TheRCAddict7 жыл бұрын
No, this is not a race quad lol. Racing you generally just have higher gains to make it feel sharper as you don't care it is has slightly more prop wash or oscillation.

Do you use any kind of image stabilization while recording the flight or editing thee video? Heyyy The RCAddict I can not get rid of some vibrations of the roll axis (i think). I have already reduced the roll P from 56 to 35 (stock is 40) and my quad always vibrates. I'm not sure but I think I have less propwash and less vibrations when I put the roll I below 35. I tried to attenuate the vibrations with the D value but it did not work, I was up to 46 in the D Value. The motors did not heat but I decided not to raise the value of Roll D more than this, was already higher than the value of Roll P. Please check this video, i made a compilation of some vibrations: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3m4gn2Zi6Z7hbs I really need help i dont know what to do anymore. I've been trying tune this quad for 6 months MyGear: Frame: Lisam 210 Motors: DIY FIre 2600 kv Flight Controller: Omnibus F4 pro Vtx: Matek 5.8G 40CH 25/200/500mW VTX-HV RX: Furious fpv true-d v3.5 / Fatshark goggles HD 2 Camera: HS11774 HD CAmera: GoPro Hero 5 Session Current settings: Roll 43 55 39 Pitch 66 50 44 Yaw 85 50 Anti Gravity Gain 67TPA 0.30 / 1650 D Setpoint Weight 1 D Setpoint Transition 0.3 Filter settings: PT1 Notch Filter 1 and 2 disable I also want to ask you what value you use in D set point weight and transition. Thank you, Help me if u can please. 😀😀
@TheRCAddict7 жыл бұрын
Do you have things softmounted? You probably don't want this as an answer, but you might have an issue with the FC or ESCs them selves. That is certainly strange and besides that the quad seems to have a perfectly decent tune.
@Maorifpv7 жыл бұрын
First of all, thank you for the quick response. This is a problem I have since I started this hobby. Initially I had banggod flight controllers, cheap motors and Esc and thought that was the problem, so, I decided to invest a little more money into better gear. I bought a Genuine FLIP 32 - F4 - OMNIBUS V3 PRO from readytoflyquads.com new ESCS and new motors. The performance improved a lot but when I get to the stage of the fine tune, I cant get the sharp and full smooth fly. These roll axis vibrations are always present. Answering your question, I have the softmounted flight controller. Today I will retune again 😀😀😀
@TheRCAddict7 жыл бұрын
What about stock BF 3.2.3? Also RTFQ isn't the best place to get genuine gear, but still should not be having that issue regardless. I honestly haven't seen anything with oscillations on just the roll before like that.

The RCAddict yap its weird and i cant fix it, today was another failed tuned day. I think um going to buy a new FC. Do you suggest One? And a good place to buy it? I need One with osd and current sensor . Ill give up on This quad. Thank you for help mate
