Karunai masiyal is great. I used to add mashed tooor dhal and grated coconut which will reduce the bitter taste of pidi karunai..

For mashiyal coconut 🥥 oil is best. With cheenai also we make mashiyal. We're from Noorani palakkad

Instead of adding lime juice I put I add tamarind juice. I use cashews in shallot sambar and Kaju masala. This time I will try your recipe. THANK you both

Amma is very sweet always, I make this mashiyal but I am afraid of the vegetable and it’s itching hands and throat, now I got a few tips which Amma told will surely follow from next time. Mam is ri8, puli is not good for health, so it is good to add little bit, it is gud for liver lit bit to digestive system but not too excess.
