Nostalgia....my grandmother used to make ...mouthwatering thinking abt the tamarind taste which is enhanced by the onion and green chillies flavour. As you said its a golden traditional dish.

I used to prepare very often as this is good for health. But you are using onion very much which not necessary. Also we used Boiled Toor dhall and used jaggery for காரத்தன்மை போவதற்கு ..Make in the gravy consistent with diced portion of karunai, so that we use with rice and also as side dish..Very good dish and God bless.

If u use boil toor dhal and jaggery that is called karunaikilangu pachadi i am from tirunelveli in our side this masyal is a traditional dish
