Don't forget to add SCA or replace the coolant filter to prevent anymore cavitation

calculated risk....understood.at least this way when you go to do the out of frame rebuild you will be more familiar with the engine and what it takes to do it. i have 2 of the milwaukee 1/2" high torgue impacts. 1400 lb ft breaking force. i use it on 33mm lug nuts on medium and heavy trucks with no issues. congrats on getting it back together and running again.

Yessir, I’ve seen you use that Milwaukee and that’s more of the reason I picked up the dewalt to try out but I’ve got my eye on that 1” drive from Milwaukee

You're crazy for not sending that head to the machine shop to get pressure tested before putting it back together. Thanks for the video!

If I'm taking the time and cost to do an in frame I also change all the wear items, water pump, fuel pump, fan clutch, alternator and idler pulley. It gets expensive but any of these failing will cost you in a break down, towing, loosing the load cost, etc

Keep up on the coolant filter changes. The additives help prevent cavitation and pitting.

Surprised that you did not replace the other rod bearings...also you can get a permanent magnet gear reduction starter for under three hundred new or less..the engine spins over twice as fast with less voltage,.

Anybody know y a 3406b dies at idle when warm
@johngoldsmith66294 жыл бұрын
Two items I would check. First what is low idle speed? Second seen FRC kills the engine when dropping down to idle. Other causes getting into governor or pump.
@isaacgamer70854 жыл бұрын
@@johngoldsmith6629 it idles fine when first crunk up at 700 rpms. Once warm it will shut off like its running out of fuel. Put a pressure gauge. Its around 50 psi even when it dies. I took shut off solenoid off and still does it. I've got it idled up to 8 or 900 to and it doesn't shut off. Also my gears may be to high but I have to ride clutch and press throttle pretty good to get it to go with load. What is afc
