I knew Nick was going downhill, after the airing of Fred 2, I gave up on them, for me, there is absolutely no hope that Nick will be as good as they used to be, and the fact that "experts" blame Nicks decline on reruns is pretty interesting, since 97% of the world blames it on simply Spongebob reruns.

1977 - 1978 = Early Years 1979 - 1984 = Classic Era 1 1985 - mid 1991 = Classic Era 2 late 1991 - mid 1996 = Golden Era late 1996 - mid 2004 = Silver Era late 2004 - mid 2009 = Bronze Era late 2009 - Present = Garbage aside some shows. Nickelodeons Best Year = 1996 Has some of the most and best lineups. 2004 comes in pretty close too in my opinion. Nickelodeons Worst Year = Honestly, 2017 is only halfway over and it might just be the worst year for the network by far. Aside SB and Loud House, that's mostly it. The only year of the 2010s that is decent in my eyes is probably 2016.

I thought 2017 (and probably 2015 too) were pretty decent. 2010 is my favorite year of modern Nickelodeon though. 2011 wasn’t as good but still OK imo.

The thing I love abot Old Spongebob is how he dosn't smile 90% of the episode, gets the picture that Squidward hates him, can get pissed with a stern face, can MAKE funny faces, isn't an idiot, dosn't have nasty charcters and scenes, dosn't have a high voice, isn't attracted to Sqidward, and in some episodes, he hates Squidward. Man, I miss old Spongebob.

I used to watch Nickelodeon well into my early 20's and this was the first year I didn't spend a majority of my TV watching time on Nick. iCarly is now officially over (as of yesterday) and Victorious is ending any day now. Only two good live action shows IMO. Used to obsess over Spongebob and now I could care less what happens to it. In terms of the crappy video game show, have they not learned ANYTHING from the disaster that was Tak and the Power of Juju? I'm with you Pieguy, I wouldn't miss

When you said this channel could possibly run out of business, it brought me back to what i said about Cartoon Network back in 2008 when they launched CN Real, i know theyve gotten rid of their live action shows (save for level up) but that was just a personal insult to me and in my opinion i honestly hope Cartoon Network bring themsleves back up heck CN inspired me to become an animator in the first place you can imagine how pissed i was when i saw their live action programming

I just finished watching the final episode of iCarly. I thought that it was very touching and heartwarming to me. I cried at the end. Even though I will always love Drake and Josh more than iCarly, I did like iCarly. I remember back in the day when it came out and I was 11 years old in the 5th grade. Now, it has ended with me at 16 years old in the 10th grade. I'll miss you iCarly. :'(

On Nick's schedule today (4/14/13), they have... 3 1/2 hours of Spongebob 7 1/2 hours of Fairly Odd Parents 3 hours of EVERYTHING ELSE. Tommorow (4/15/13) 5 1/2 hours of Spongebob 5 1/2 hours of Preschool Programming 1 1/2 hours of Fairly Odd Parents 1 episode of Drake and Josh. Can't wait to watch Nick!

I saw your tweet recently saying that you want to spice up your future rants but can't decide what to do. How about showing the episode and do a voice over commentary like DVD's have. Only difference would be that you could pause the episode to give your opinion. This is a good way to point out things about how the episode looks that you couldn't show before. This might be a longer way of doing rants but it definitely is different from what you have been doing.

well when spongebobs ratings drop and with Icarly gone it seems that nick did go down. However they did find some replacements and some of the live action shows are actually decent or good. so nick isn't dead yet, improved from that period where it seemed all of the 3 main kid networks were dead. Still excited for that 2nd SB movie coming out in 2 years.

you should make one of these for disney, even though you probably don't watch it but the shows they have for the future look pretty promising, there's going to be a new animated series that Craig McCracken(creator of powerpuff girls and fosters home for imaginary friends) is making which doesn't seem so bad, also they're making a spinoff of boy meets world which actually sounds pretty good and i'm excited for both of them

It's pretty normal for Dan Schneider to make spin-offs off his shows. With All That you got keenen and kel, Amanda Bynes, and Jamie Lyn spears having their own shows. From the Amanda show you get Drake and Josh, and from Drake and Josh you get Icarly. There's also Victoria Justice from Zoey 101, having her own show too.

You should give Robot and Monster a chance. It's a lot more than meets the eye: It's original and has fantastic writing. For example, the show has a tragic character named Perry with a history of his wife leaving him and other nasty events, but he's stuck with the misfortune of his face being frozen in a permanent smile. Perry is one of the show's examples of irony. I'm just throwing this out there: Robot and Monster is definitely Nick stepping away from the "Spongebob" bubble.

I have good news regarding Spongebob Squarepants, it will end next year in 2014 with the new movie. I heard Tom Kenny co-wrote the film as he did for the stop-motion Spongebob Christmas special for 2012. It might turn out good, then again it may not. I really hope it completely disappears from Nick with no reruns after this movie comes out.

On my foot, if Adventure Time was on Nickelodeon, they might have not let Pen Ward get away with any of the stuff he's been able to get away with on CN because they can tolerate the PG rating on their day block. Not to mention that the writers assigned might have ended up flanderizing the characters instead of developing them in this five season span.

quick summary of state of nickelodeon: spongebob being aired atleast 3 times more than any other show, victorious slumping, fairly odd parents has a decent amount of show time, yet also decreasing, marvin marvin's gonna stay terrible, etc. if u think about it, there are hardly any nick shows still in the making. a major issue with nick is timing. they can't keep worn out shows yet they don't have replacements. this channel is quickly decreasing and eventually it will die.

I have my doubts with what would have happened if Nickelodeon kept Adventure Time. I just see no change from the pilot if Nick had the show. Lady Rainicorn would still be making hysterical noises instead of speaking Korean. Either Nick has issues with getting shows with creators with a passionate creative drive or Nick is making them do things with their shows that they think kids love when it doesn't. I'm not sure, either way they need help.

The Spongebob Second Movie couldn't be the end because THE END of the series was the first movie. This tells us that seasons 4 up until know are crude copies of past events before the film.

I doubt that any of the Nickelodeon Networks will "go out of business", because all of them are owned by MTV Networks Group, which is also a division of Viacom International, Inc. MTVNetworks Group owns all of the following television networks: CMT, Comedy Central, SpikeTV, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, NICK@NITE, NICKJR, TEENick, all of the MTV channels, as well as the Vh1 channels. All of those netwrks are doing great, except for MTVs & Nicks.

The difference couldn't be greater between Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network right now. Regular Show, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, all wonderfully original and witty shows. There's talented writers out there, but they clearly aren't going into Nick Studios.

i just hope these producers and writers of nickelodeon know what's going on. this channel use to be meant for maybe people ages 8+ but what bugs me is I have a feeling no one is stopping nickelodeon because maybe they like the fact that it's meant for elementary school kids.... this is just for spongebob. all I have to say at this point of sb is for viewers but mainly writers. spongebob will not get better. writers, don't even attempt to bring this show back. the only time of their slump that we still had faith for this show to make a come back was after season 4. we know this channel is at a wobbly stage and I know many ppl want spongebob to be canceled but they can't. nick will only be at a more wobbly stage if spongebob leaves which is why they won't

The ending was rushed. The villian, who was awesome, was killed off and then all of a sudden Aang gives Korra the power to give people's bending back. They could have produced a plot for season two off of that and they tossed it away. Also... WHY NO RE-RUNS?

Actually, all of the Nickelodeon Networks have gone downhill since their revamp on September 23, 2009 at 11:59pm EDT, when the following cable/satellite TV networks were created, as part of Nickelodeon Networks Group, LLC's rebrand. The Nickelodeon Networks Group, LLC rebrand was create to better display all of the Nickelodeon Networks Group, LLC television networks on a business, which sounds like bull-sh*t, but that's what I read on another reliable website.

B) The resolution was not only a Deus Ex Machina, but a certain two people got strangled by the red string. They established a couple, conflicts from that couple... and then shattered the couple into a dozen pieces. C) They're still producing two more seasons. How do you branch off of THAT ending?

Nickelodeon is really becoming the Disney Channel. Both channels have sitcoms with kids becoming famous. I think they should stop that theme in their shows. They need to come up with new ideas for shows and make more cartoons. I miss the old Nickelodeon. I don't like the new episodes of Spongebob at all. They should have just ended Spongebob after the movie. I miss the Rugrats, All Grown Up, Cat Dog, Catscratch, Angry Beavers, and Hey Arnold, the Amanda Show, and All That. Those were amazing sh

Nick has been dead for years. It's just on life support via Spongebob. Once all the original Nicktoons are gone that's it. It'll be time to pull the plug. I highly doubt Nick will still be around by the year 2017. It'll probably be replaced with some stupid MTV/reality counterpart since that's what Nick seems to have turned into anyway.

my plan of action if I was a member of nick: sell TMNT to CN, seems like a show CN would love, at least the concept. use the money received from selling TMNT to higher better writers of fairly odd parents. get rid of spongebob and use money maid off of a hopefully better FOP and use THAT money to buy writers for a new show. sell Marvin Marvin to CN becuz it seems like a concept they can handle. use that money to higher writers of iCarly in replace of Victorious, a new show similar to D & J

I disagree. "The Hub" isn't included in cable/satellite TV lineup. However, after browsing through "The Hub"'s schedule on hubworld.com and looking at most of the titles for "The Hub"'s television programs, I think that most of "The Hub"'s cartoons are aimed towards girls, except for "Superman: The Animated Series" and "Batman: The Animated Series." The only "Hub Primetime" TV show that I would like to watch is "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch."

Also I realized Nick was going under when that stupid Bucket and Skinner premiered. The production looks exactly like that of a Disney Channel show which shows no originality and the characters had no depth. Then when How to Rock premiered (which by the way starred Master P.'s daughter and Lill Romeo's sister) and it was in the same production style as Bucket and Skinner I really knew Nick was on the verge of being put on life support. Too bad.

No good cartoon on TV would dare put their show on Nickelodeon because, they know, Nick will edit their cartoon until it has the least funniest jokes and most boring plots ever. It'll rush production of the show, and air it at odd times, advertise it a week JUST before release, and since people are smart enough to see how bad Nick is they wont tune in to the show cuz they will think the show is bad. they show reality shows from MTV in a specific time slot. MTV and Nick were once sister channels, but now MTV practically took over Nick. There are some reality shows and sitcoms back then. But they were outnumbered by the cartoons and those shows were actually funny. Now their sitcoms are nothing but toilet humor and horrible jokes. They even sometimes confuse funny with downright cruel. Don't get me wrong, some of their shows are funny sometimes, but most of the time they're crap

it is COMPLETELY safe to say that nick has died and CN beat them. from 2010 to now CN has completely got better while nick got worse. CN has better shows, better ratings for those shows, and more viewers and nick has the complete opposite. Cartoon Network is going to survive but nick, well, they're fucked.
