In July of 2021, my good friend Cheesebeard and I set off on our traverse of Iceland, from the North-West corner of Iceland hiking on foot all the way down to the South coast. This is video two in my hiking vlog from the trip. I hope you enjoy the journey.

About:
I am Paul "Pie" Ingram. I am a hiker and filmmaker from the UK that's living in Finland and hiking all over the world. Pieonthetrail is all about sharing my hiking films, reviewing gear, and sharing tips and tricks. In 2015 I Thru-Hiked the 2189-mile Appalachian Trail; in 2017, I finished the 2700-mile Continental Divide Trail (CDT). I've also hiked:
- The Annapurna Circuit in Nepal
- 400+ miles on the high routes in California's Sierra Nevada
- 400+ miles crossing Iceland from NW to S
- My current project, "seasonslostfilm," has me hiking the East Highland Way in Scotland in January and again in June.

Very interrsting video! Thank you. Sorry about the shoe problem. I’ve learned the hard way that trail runners even in summer ain’t always right when you are so far north. It’s often soggy and moist, even experienced a snow storm once in june (!) in the middle of Sweden.

Last summer was so horrible, weather wise. I feel so bad for you guys and hope you have a chance to come back for a hike in better weather! If you plan to come back, you can send me a message and have a "friend" in Iceland :)

beautifully put together video.. loving the series. i remember reading somewhere that the plastics in trail runners (probably all sports shoes) decomposes over time.. initially i thought this was salesmanship so we wouldn't hoard our favourites and always keep buying the lastest and greatest. i think you said yours were 3's which is quite a while a go now so maybe there's something to it.. but having the sides blow out that early is really annoying. these kind of (non-)trails are much tougher on shoes than the PCT /CDT as you will know. love the tattoos & look forward to the next

Great series so far. Iceland is such an incredible place, can't wait to go back. Those Patagonia Terrebone joggers are the best hiking trousers!

Watching all your vlogs on Iceland. Great viewing. I couple of quick questions : I saw your gear vlog before you started and doubted I'd wear trail runners (always had mid-length boots none of which have never failed me and which I'll likely use for 6 weeks in the Icelandic Highlands next year) - would you wear something else (or a different brand) if starting again ? Also are those the GG Strap Pockets - large? And what was the camera rain cover Cheesebeard had on his camera (on a PD Capture Clip)? Cheers !

@@pieonthetrail That will obviously be easy for you dude! I have learned so much from you and IBTAT. I'm planning a thru hike attempt with my two kids in 2024. We can't make the work schedules work until then. All TV sucks, so I spend a good deal of time watching you guys and learning!
