Hi, I am going to fish at st. joseph pier this early Oct. Is this a good time for pier fishing to catch salmon or trout at this point and do you have any suggestions about the bait? After watching your videos, I went to this place in early Aug after 8 hours of driving from upper Michigan. Then I found that my bait for pier fishing did not work at all, while those people around me caught a lot of nice steelheads. If you can make a video to explain how to choose baits and lures for st. joseph pier fishing, this will be very great.

October should be good for salmon, maybe steelhead but no guarantee. Use Cleo or moonshine spoons, heavy. Also try cast netting alewives or using a sebiki rig for them and use them as bait
