Perez isn't doing much better at all, in Pierre RedBull time there were 6 top team cars, while merc was the fastest. What i wanted to say, in Gasly RedBull Era it was much harder for him to get a podium, cuz there were at least 5 other top team cars fighting for it. Now Perez only have to beat one to be on the podium, as soon no other midfield team is stronger than usual. No wonder, that Perez has more podiums. Perez is doing better than Gasly, but not by much, although Perez is in the sport for like 10 years, and it was Gasly's 2nd year.

@@ayoub1riad nah...every driver wants to drive for ferrari and now merc, at some stage in their career. drivers mid career look at the wider picture. yes max would love to get a couple of championships with the team he built back to the front, but every driver, secretly wants to drive in red and now silver. Max will at some stage in his career take the dollars. Gasly is banking on Max jumping early. Id say after the first year of the new regs, if the RB isnt at the front, Max will have a performance clause and will jump to whoever the best team is. Pierre then gets the RB seat. When you get hurt like he did by RB, it burns inside you, and you want to right the wrong.

@@6cam953 Exactly, that's Yuki's drive, not the car's true abilities. It's not like Gasly is doing anything miraculous(hes amazing though) with the car. He just knows how to use it better than Yuki. There's no way any driver pulls performance beyond a car's capabilities and not spin or crash. Ham, Alonso, and Vettel can consistently pull out 100% of a car's capabilities but even they lose control when trying to do more.

Pierre is seriously underrated. I believe the only reason he underperformed at Red Bull was because the car didn't suit him (mid season driver change) and a couple unlucky events. Put him in a Red Bull at the start of the season and he'd be up there with Max.
