In the end, they reached a compromise and the couple were permitted to wed. While their marriage was an intimate one, they sadly weren't able to have children like Victoria and Albert did (it's unclear why, some suggest she was infertile). His nephew Frederick III famously married Victoria's eldest daughter, another true love story among royals.

Oh god, I love the moment near end of segment 2 when they're all discussing Albert and then you see two men fm the knees down in those high boots walking purposefully ..... THEN they come in while Victoria is playing the piano. She hasn't seen Albert for several years evidently. THEN, he quietly walks over to the piano and reaches up, turns the page of music sheet. She looks up at him, startled, he just whispers..... Victoria. She stares and then says... Albert and we have to wait a week to see these two again !!!

Never has Piano Playing been seen to be so sensual and romantic. I had no idea that Jenna Louise Coleman could play so well. When she talked about Schubert, it was mentioned in "Carol" starring Cate Blanchett & Rooney Mara (who also play Piano). Cate Blanchett was also holding a Book featuring Schubert's Music. Rooney Mara can play a Mean Piano as seen on The Cleaner starring Benjamin Bratt. She played Billie Holiday in Carol.
