It's all optics in politics. Always has been. It's like when Trump says he's a god fearing Christian. That man has no religious bone in his body. He started going to church and saying he was a Christian just for optics to pander to the religious right. Just like Kamala is trying to pander to African Americans right now. Ethnically, Kamala Harris is black and African by definition. She's half Jamaican, a ethnic group which originally originated from western Africa. But culturally she's not really black and nowhere relatable for southern black people. As I said, politics is only optics and grifting. This goes for both republicans and democrats. The question isn't who does it. Both sides do. But who's the worst. Which clearly is Trump in my eyes.

@@amandaguidry4242really curious how you feel about how the media is treating Kamala's race? It shocks me that America of all places is just now discovering that mixed race people exist and have the privilege (often) of pulling one of both of their identities when necessary. It's actually not that deeply and pretty natural. I'm sure your kids do it small ways depending on what groups of friends your with, etc. Very similar to how high school girls alter their behavior and/or pull on femininity when convenient. It's a pretty human thing to do and most people that don't have more than 1 tradition in their family don't have to think about it much. The same way Kamala does Indian dinners on certain nights for her family is very similar to how she might drop the "er" in "Better" and opt for "Betta" instead. People who have grown up influenced by black American culture, no matter the color, know this really well. Also she went to a HBCU for 4 years where she was welcomed with open arms into black community. I went to Howard as well, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to this (for example, Candace Owens has been saying this "Catholic, gang gang" ever since her conversion. If you watch her last episode (the Schmuley one), she literally admits that she doesn't know why she says it 😂. Well...it's the same reason why Kamala says betta one second and better another. Black "code switching" is something black people and/or people influenced by the culture have done for a very long time... So again, just really curious how you see this as a white mom who has mixed race children. My inkling is that you've probably seen how this starts and that it's not as problematic as people think.

FMLA FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) was promulgated by Congress, not the unions. It gives people up to 3 months medical leave (for self or family members), or adoption. Whether it’s paid or unpaid leave is decided by company benefits. The unions didn’t bargain for this leave, Congress passed it last not law.
@Psilocyber9114 күн бұрын
FMLA is great. The issue is that it applies to public sector employees, private employers (but only if they have 50+ employees), and, if I remember, employers with employees in multiple states (under interstate commerce). For the most part, If you work in the private sector for a small to medium-sized employer, it does not apply. That’s where analogous state legislation comes in to play. . .
