I really apprecaited the book list at the end, I'd not thought about Postman for a while, need to read that book anew! I noticed on small word slip at 11:31, where you said - set free from the Gospel - when I think you meant - set free from the Law -. Another great video! My! I don't recall any previous death threats! As for your "Yo" & other appropriate mannerisms, rock on. They help make your persona compelling. As for TV, Gerry Mander wrote "Four arguments for the elimination of TV" & "In the absence of the sacred," which castigate TV programming tendencies with much good data. Thanks for more great exposition on law vs Gospel, as C.F.W. Walther wrote about so well. May God bless you, your work, especially these videos, and those you love.

jmj858 I believe Pastor Fisk would suggest (but he could correct me if I'm wrong) that the Bible would say no matter where you are born (such as Saudi Arabia, India, France, USA or Anywhere) that we have ALL "fallen short of the glory of God". Therefore everyone is dead in our sins, and only the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ can bring a dead man (or women) to life. We cannot choose life in Jesus, which is why ALL Glory is in Jesus alone, and not by anything we do. So, being born somewhere isn't what matter (as there are Christian beleivers all throughout the world, even Saudi Arabia), but that ALL need the forgiveness of God regardless!

Pietistic Lutheranism started out well, but in the 2nd Great Awakening Revivals it got out of control and now most churches are pietistic with an emphasis on the individual rather than God or the church.

@Victornotvictim77 The rationalizing takes place when someone says that BECAUSE Jesus will return bodily at the eschaton, or BECAUSE this is rightly called a SECOND coming (and not a 762nd billionth coming); it therefore follows that Jesus cannot be bodily present in the Lord's Supper. By a rational inference the Reformed needlessly set one part of God's Word in opposition to another part.

I know that and Lutherans are supposed to have both law and Gospel. I just know too many people who seem to ignore Romans 6.

Pietism came out of Lutheranism but too many Lutherans today I know seem to be going dangerously close to antinomianism.

Ideas have Consequences is one to be careful with. Weaver places the blame for relativism in the nominalism of Bill Occam, who greatly influenced Luther. Weaver is right in his attack on relativism, but nominalism is not relativistic. What leads to relativism is works-rigtheous theologies. Without free grace, one cannot accept the whole law as truth, and must rewrite or reject it to make self-justification possible. (Hence, the enlightment and post-modernism). Weaver's Catholicism got in the way

Say what? I think you're getting confused. Lutherans today who have stuck with the bible believe in Justification by faith and grace. WE are saved by Grace through Christ Jesus. Not by works lest anyone should boast. WE follow Christ and do as he says but we are always going to be sinful. WE ask for giveness of sins and we partake in the Lord's supper and we baptize infants. That's all biblical.
