Pietta 1873 SAA Review.

Colt 1873 Single Action Army Replica made by Pietta in Italy. Note that the importer has to print the name on the barrel, so ignore my comments. A couple times I meant "firing pin," not "primer." Also meant "Remington 1858," not "1878." The Pietta SAA later started unlocking by slight finger pressure on some chambers causing off-center primer strikes.. Better see and check the gun in person before buying! .

If it has a “hammer firing pin”-it will not have a safety transfer bar. Nice review! I have two of these Italian pieces. They have better cylinder lock up than my Ruger Blackhawk.

EMF DOES NOT stamp their name on the gun. I have purchased two SAA 45 Colt from them, and they do stamp the original copyright dates on the left side of the frame above the trigger, below the cylinder. The dates are, Sept 19. 1871, July 2. 1872’ and Jan 19. 1875.

EMF does not print on you there single action army’s. I got a great western too and it is amazing.

don't know if you got yours yet, but b-4 u do , look at Uberti firearms also besides Pietta. If you want specifics and custom tuned , Look into Taylors distributors

Yep, now I got a Uberti in .38-40 and a real 1897 SAA!

@@gilgsn great enjoy it . Fyi , Beretta firearms is related to Uberti so they are made to strict standards i believe. My Uberti is the Stampede model in 45 Colt . Beautiful Case hardened frame, and the blueing itself is gorgeous

Is it harmful to fire the gun while the base pin protrudes from the back? Incase you wanted to use it as a safety as mentioned.

Hello, I don't know, probably not. The base pin isn't a firing pin.. I wouldn't make it a habit in case it mars the base pin retaining gizmo.. Better use snap caps for dry firing.

Practice how the Cowboys reload. Use your shooting hand to hold it,open the gate,turn the cylinder with a finger and use your opposite hand to feed the bullets...just a tip, it's easy after 3-4 times...yee haaaaa giddy up

Olivier JUILLET Celui là c'est une réplique Italienne de chez Pietta. Uberti en fabrique aussi. On peut trouver des vrais en France, en vente libre, mais ils doivent dater d'avant 1900 et avoir un numéro de série inférieur à 192000.
