Burr has a way of making both groups laugh - his comedy like a lot of music bridges the unfortunate cultural divide. i have to say I have learned more about black culture from watching videos like this and music reaction videos of cross-culture variety than I ever learned before at work, or at school, black history month or whatever. These are so refreshing and fun to celebrate our differences - not attack them - and celebrate our similarities - not deny them. You three dudes are cool AF and I enjoyed this and other reactions by you. The kind of people I wish I could just hang out with.

Love your reactions guys, can't wait to see more comedy reactions. Bill Burr is a beast. One of the few white dudes who can talk about race without offending other races, because he's speaking the truth and has no hatred in his heart about it. All good intentions. I haven't read the comments but I'm sure some other Burr fans have mentioned that his wife is dark skinned black and they have a baby together. And his best friend was Patrice O'Neil. To this day, he hosts a comedy event where all the proceeds go to Patrice's family. Nothing but love.

Bill Burr has been a favorite of mine forever....I'm prolly one of the few women that would tune in and listen to his podcast back when he was about the only guy doing a podcast. I always thought he nailed this stuff from the reaction of the audience and my limited association with my few black friends, but wasn't 100% sure. After watching you guys I can say, he did. Also, you guys look like a fun group to hang out with. Chris' story about Lynchburg is hysterical. Well, yes and no, his "I'm gonna have to take my chances" part is funny. I don't know how big it is but I do know that when I've pulled into small towns people look at me because they've never seen me before and the town is so small, they notice, but I don't think it's that small. Haha. Also, I used to live in New York and my brother and his wife came to visit me. One day I was at work and they decided to take the train up to the Bronx Zoo (bold move for a couple of kids from rural America). They got directions and they had the subway map but kind of lost track where they were. They said the train was mostly POC when they got on, but by the time they went through Harlem there weren't any other white people, only POC. They got nervous once they noticed the train was emptying out and they were worried they missed their stop. They were looking at the map and this nice black lady several seats away called out to them, "This next stop is your stop." They looked at her confused....how does she know their stop? My brother said, "We're going to the zoo." She replied, "Baby, I know, and that's the next stop, now you folks enjoy your visit." They told me this story and related at first it was almost must have had magical powers...but of course after they got off they realized that she prolly mostly sees white people on the train that are going to the zoo. Regardless, they were super impressed that she was so kind to help a couple of strangers. They'd always heard that New Yorkers are rude and unfriendly (not from me) and she was an incredible ambassador for the city that day.

In 1998 my best friend and I were doing a very low budget road trip. We come from a very poor and diverse (minority white, if it matters) community. My mom is from Detroit, grew up on 11 Mile. We were both very comfortable in places that a lot of other people, regardless of race, were not. So, we decided that we would sleep in our car somewhere along the long drive to Miami, because we weren't trying to spend money. We left in the evening and got super tired around the time we entered D.C. We thought it was best to sleep in a "bad" part of town to not get busted for sleeping in the car. So we pull up to a side street, we're reclined in our seats and suddenly we hear what both of us know is gun fire. Yet, we were so young and stupid we just stayed there, lol (it was gunfire, we found out later there were shootings outside of an Ice Cube show close by). We saw no one on the streets walking other than prostitutes. Yet, our stupid asses stayed there. So the next morning we're going to leave and we stop at a nearby gas station. I go inside, and this elderly black lady touched my arm. She says, "honey, white folks don't come around here...you're not safe here, you need to leave immediately". Now, I was used to being a white minority. But once she said that, I realized I had not seen one white person at all. I also recognized that she was trying to help. I walked up out of that gas station, I got into the car and I said, "Hey, we have to leave, right now, immediately-white folks don't come around here." I think my friend thought I had lost my mind, but I was like go, beech, I'll explain. Maybe I'm lucky, in all honesty, that was the first time I ever consciously thought about race, and being in an area where white people were the minority. This story just reminds me of that time. I never, ever thought about being white in a "black area" until that day, and I was 17.

That's hilarious! I'm a white chick from NY moved to VA. Jeez! I'm a social worker too. 3 days ago, I sat outside a store eating ribs with a client watching a crack deal right in front of my car no problem. Then I drive home, in my "driving while black" neighborhood and I go wtf? Gotta love the south. 🙄 Loved you guys 😂😂
