Pievancl There’s a video on KZbin where this has been addressed before. “Chip” is a combination of Breuer and Brennan. Also, some of it is exaggerated. You don’t really think “Chip” walked up to the cop for directions with the joint still in his hand, do you? No, but he was high at the time and that’s what tripped Chappelle out about it. Y’all look for that video - it’s out there.

Love the reaction guys this Chappelle comedy special killing them softly was 🔥when I first watch this had me rolling and with tears in my eyes. Dave was on top of his game with his comedy specials and the Chappelle show in that time nobody couldn't touch this man because of what he was doing at the time. And you are right he's up there with the Mount Rushmore of comedians because you have at 1, Pryor 2, Murphy 3, Foxx 4, Chappelle the first 3 open the door for the younger comedians we have to day. People love to say that Prior and Murphy were pioneers, but Dave was a pioneer as well. Don't get me wrong, Prior and Eddie are awesome, they really did something different and funny. But I think Dave did the same thing, he revolutionized the comedy game and was just funnier in the process. The way he'd tell stories, the way he'd make it seem like he wasn't even trying to tell you a joke, it was just a funny ass story, sets him apart. He's my GOAT, in my opinion.

If Dave had of STAYED as funny as he was in his 2000 special Dave would be the GOAT. His Origin of the N word bit that he did on Def Comedy Jam is brilliant. I always appreciate that Dave ALWAYS had social commentary to his comedy. When I was in College I watched Dave do 5 shows at the Punchline over one weekend and he didn't repeat ONE joke. And he SLAYED every minute he was there. It was the most extraordinary thing I've EVER seen a standup do.
