@@HuntingwithStu I know a shooter who bragged that he shot a tawny frog mouth owl with a shot gun as he walked through a gate because it was there, and to hear that was very disappointing I'm more for feral animal shooting myself

Hey Stu, Just wanted to know what the name of the gun you use is. It looks extremely similar to one that my father got a few weeks ago. Also, do you think air rifles are any good for hunting critters like rabbits? It's all I have available to me currently, but I really want to get into the sport of hunting. and good job on the video, I really enjoyed it

@haroldoz25566 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah they make levers but also straight pulls now too, though there's also SHS with their STP12 straight pull too. I'm keen for a short repeating shotty for pigs in scrub and keep my old .303 for more open country hunting.

Hey mate , I’m new to hunting , what rifle would you recommend as the best for this type of shooting. Any advice is great . Thanks
@HuntingwithStu5 жыл бұрын
A lever action shotgun and a short action rifle like a Tikka 308. Even another lever action rifle like a 30/30 Winchester or Browning would be good as well.

nice ending, nice fire ,good mates, relaxing under the stars...life dont get much better than that those pigs in africa are bigger and faster that is why I sent the clip to you....pigs in TX run like the devil in all directions not in a straight line. In germany the boars will chase you and they are mean. I walked back from the airfield many times I got chased a dozen times in two years I was in the army near france in the mountains. weather will sneak up on you there...but it is good training for being allert. should have got off your quad and kissed the pig or arm wrestled it...boy I normally dont mess with people and loaded weapons! some pigs???

I remember years ago we use to shoot in a place called the Macquarie Marshes about a 100km from Warren in NSW, and I use to knock pigs over with only a 22 Hornet. My Dad and uncle were using military Lee Enfield .303 rifles. Upon just leaving the military after 10 years service I found that a massive calibre round is not always necessary to knock over feral pigs. Would love to go through the process of being licenced again and start hunting pigs again. As it looks like they are in plaque proportions even in parts of NSW.....
@HuntingwithStu5 жыл бұрын
My first rifle was a 22 hornet built on a 303 action. I'm also ex-mil 35 years mate. Yes the pigs are good at repopulating areas mate

My favorite part is when Stu pulls the gun I feel like I hold my breath I wait and wait for him to shoot, then Stu goes, "for fuck sakes!". I'm assuming its those moments you forget your safety is on? Also what was with the picking of the leaves and crushing them up to smell them?
