In my younger years I used to have some good days when I went to a shoot at a farm in Hale Barns and found that a Side by Side using either 7s or 8s was good for pigeons, I found that they were crafty little buggers in the they would fly in a more or less straight line but as soon as I let fly with some shot they would immediately turn round and fly the opposite direction, for my lay pigeon shoots these were at The Little Mill Inn, Rowarth I would use an Over Under using 8s.

The difference between a gun that fits and one that doesn't literally can make a shooter. I used to always be at best a mediocre shot then went to a mates clay shoot using a borrowed gun and repeatedly hit everything. Personally I still prefer rifle shooting over shotgun, I'm still umming and ahhing about getting another air rifle, I do miss my air arms s410.

I’m a lot better with a rifle, but today’s exercise was more about reinforcing the gas banger than putting anything in the freezer 😄
