Hello kind sir, my wife and I have been salivating over your footage. We are visiting SG for 7 days this September just to try out your recommendations. I grew up in SG in the early 90s when I was in primary school and I remember making stops at ang mo kio, clementi and chomp chomp to eat my heart out. Truly a very informative and entertaining channel. Keep up the excellent work! More success to you and may the food gods bless you with goof health and longevity. Cheers from Manila, Philippines!

U know, aside from the constantly amazing food visuals, the audio - hearing people speak just as if I’m also hanging out there at the local hawkers, bring me closer to home. Did u see me tag u in my comment previously in my videos where terubong made contact? 😄 I said ure the new Overseas Singaporean Unit haha, cos u unite all of us thru the power of Makan! Loving the drone footage!

Ahhh, love that 3D aerial shot again! Hawkers in Singapore never cease to amaze. Look at the large herbal urns/pot and the instrument they use to extract each herbal soup jar, wow! How much is the one with the nice white abalones, I could not see the price for that one on the board. Whoa, I like the black sesame - chee ma wu - my favorite. Boy Puggy, you really know how to eat, love the noodles with fish. I remember I used to eat these fresh sliced fishes either with hor fun or noodles. Yam cake and chee cheong fun, lovely combination, a plate for me please, well maybe two plates!!! Yes, I agree with Jason Chew's comment, you should be Singapore's Ambassador for the hawker centers! 👍👏😂🤣😁

Hahaha.. me Hawker Centre Kaypoh 😂 That abalone soup is $10 (cheap cheap said the owner 😅) I used to have Chee Ma wu whenever I visit HK.. what a great find here. Guess there’s still so many places that are alien to me for such a long time. Those hawker Zhi char dishes.. we can never achieve that at home unless you’ve a similar high BTU gas stove. On just mins.. they can lock in that Wok Hei in the crispy noodles 🤤 feel like goin back for more. I learnt that my grandma was once a street hawker selling yam cake.. it was the best.. lost when she passed on in 1980

@@Piggypuggy How precious, your grandma was once a street hawker selling yam cake? Wow, too bad her priceless recipe is lost...😢 sniff, sniff. I did not have hand me down recipes either unfortunately, some nonya in my family - the kuehs and the dumplings and I was too young to even learn how to cook then but now have recreated some of them vegetarian style!

Ditto to Elizabeth Quinta's comments, 'Singapore's food ambassador' for hawkers Singapore!! BTW pre-pandemic, yearly at Trafalgar Square in London, the Mayor of London with the government holds a multicultural food 'fiesta'. Malaysia had few stalls, satay, etc promoting Tourism Malaysia. Singapore could have Nonya cakes, satay, noodles, simple dishes, etc.

Haha.. I’m just a fella who’s too lazy to explore and appreciate our vast variety of local food in my younger days.. I recalled it’s always chicken rice lor 🐔 🍚 or whatever without a line. This only happened after I found that a few of my favourites slowly disappeared.. left a little emptiness in me.. it is somehow heritage. And a part of our childhood 😛

Fish dishes are rather competitive there.. all range between 12-15. Sometimes a piece of salmon is already 10 at the supermarkets

wondering, is it safe (for health) use plastic container after cooked with hot stove?
@Piggypuggy3 жыл бұрын
Have some suspicion too.. that's why some use cardboard kinda takeaway bowls. The best is to bring your own metal canister that I see many folks do
@catherinehui7953 жыл бұрын
For health and saving the planet, less of plastic, very good idea bringing own container. Perhaps the government should encourage this, seeing that all over the world, climate change has increased sea levels (icebergs melting fast), torrential flooding, wild fires out of control (in 2018, thousands acres wild bushfires in California, Australia decimated trees, hence cycle oxygen/carbon dioxide in atmosphere badly affected).

Good food used to be so easily available at very moderate cost in Singapore, now its difficult to find. There's plenty of poor Malay food and Mamak is everywhere. Trying to time when you eat with the best food being available is so difficult even without the queues the best sellers always have. No wonder there's been such a huge increase in fast food and restaurants that are far more expensive. The only reason not to hop over to JB is their ridiculously inefficient CIQ but when you do food is everywhere.
