You should look up factory farming videos. We humans need to Evolve. No need to eat meat anymore. Factory Farming is beyond abhorrent & unnatural. Pigs know that they're going to die, they have panic attacks & gasp for air before their throats are slit. Cows have their babies ripped away after giving birth, so that they can be pumped over & over again for the milk we use in our cereal. The babies are slaughtered as well. CONSTANT impregnation & milking.. that's their life, until they are slaughtered. It's HORRIFIC. Chickens laying in their own waste.. the baby chicks are suffocated with basically a giant tarp that looks like a garbage bag. We have soo many options for protein now that are blood-free. We are not in survival anymore(thank Goodness)so we should be acting as such and caring for the vulnerable.

Anytime a baby animal is taken from Mom they attach to who gives them love and care. I have dealt with this with cats, ducks and chicks. They are devoted to you. I have had a couple as active as this piggy, you hope they take naps. They just bond differently than other animals. Thank you for what you do. And thank you for saving her.

You are such a Hero! No one wants a grown pig. Everyone wants piglets. I rescued a piglet..knowing it would be up to 300 pounds. Learned he was 1/2 juliana 1/2 potbelly. He is now 14 months old and weighs 115lbs. He is an indoor who can go outside whenever he wants thru a dog door. I am almost 60 and I pray that I outlive him!

I have totally fallen suddenly in love with your piglet Anne Claire! How could we not? She's your companion and love for life. She took to you like ducks to water, and vise versa... Pigs may be smarter than SOME dogs under SOME circumstances, but I have a cat "Penelope" who was a rescue, fit in the palm of my husband's hand, and she's as smart as any animal I've had. It's surprising when you find a relationship with an animal that goes beyond anything that has ever been witnessed. Penelope lays on my lap watching tv with us, and shoves her two front legs into my left Croc shoe. She just wants that closeness I guess, we have a lot of things we do together that would be considered unusual. She's smart and learns things no other cats we've had (over our marriage of 48yrs). So I understand your surprise relationship with Anne Claire, every once in a while something special comes along, and we find delight once again in our lives, how beautiful, how lucky are we! Thank you for sharing this most wonderful story, I will pass it on, it makes my heart very happy!
