26:04 I hate to be such a nerd, but the 2012 series was NOT Pizza Face's first appearance. It was his first on TV, but not as a whole. Pizza Face was a character in the 1988 toyline, where he was described as Shredder's chef, who wanted to become "the most powerful pizza chef ever". To do this, he put himself in his "retromutagen oven" but the turtles came in time to pull him out in the middle of the process. This turned him into a "half baked" monstrosity who vows vengeance against the turtles, wanting to turn them into pizza toppings. The 88 toyline was fucking hardcore.

if there's one thing this video has taught me, outside of TMNT lore and history, is the importance of physical media. so many TMNT games and moments from the 90s are lost to history because there's no physical copy. it's really scary how quickly something can disappear from the face of the earth and its disheartening for fans

I realized something: The reason why TMNT: Smash Up uses elements from the 2003 cartoon and the 2007 CGI movie was because it was released in 2009, which was the 25th anniversary of the franchise. So the game celebrated it with the (at the time) most recent show (2003 cartoon) and the (at the time) most recent movie (TMNT 2007)

Fun fact about Cartoon All-Stars: Michelangelo is the only cartoon character to be absent on the box art. This may be due to a mistake by the artist or a deliberate choice to avoid complaints from parents who didn't like how violent TMNT was Conversely, Smurfette can be seen on the cover, despite not appearing in the special itself, which is most likely a mistake Edit: Smurfette's appearance on the cover may also hint that she was planned to appear in the special at one point but got cut, leaving the cover unedited

Definitely needs Mirage representation, could have gone into the future eras of Mirage where all the Turtles went their own ways and how they ended up. But wonderful video otherwise, a few nitpicks would be a lot of the characters first appeared in the toy line over the cartoon and for the Next Mutation you said Shredder was "killed off" but then mention his return later on. (He was just like mind wiped by Venus's magic initially.)

What's funny is that while the '87 cartoon was known as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, when the 90's TMNT movie was released internationally, it still retained the actual title, hints of a supposed change to the international release were found elsewhere including on a Japanese release of the film, the credits song in the international release having the word Ninja replaced with Hero, and gallery images in the Hong Kong DVD release of the film showing scanned versions of the lobby cards with the altered name. These types of hints including the fact that the UK version had Mikey's nunchucks covered in darkness indicated that this was being worked on but for whatever reason never made it in the UK release.

The Foot Clan prequel series pitch wasn’t the only time Eric Robles almost worked on a TMNT property. The series he was a showrunner for, Glitch Techs, was going to have a crossover of sorts with the TMNT before that episode got scrapped. It got far into production where there’s voiced animatics, with Shredder being voiced by Kevin Eastman himself.

9:22 Dr. Bolton did NOT create the Street Sharks, they were originally his human sons who were transformed into sharks by the evil Dr. Paradigm. The reason Bolton hardly showed up in the series was that he was mutated by Dr. Paradigm in the first few minutes of the series and ran off but occasionally resurfaced to help his sons. That was one of the best elements of the series for me, the Street Sharks' search for their father and how they only ever showed what he looked like mutated in the shadows.

Something I found amusing about Coming Out of Our Shells is that April is played by Sherie Rene Scott, who would later become a talented big Broadway actor (seriously, listen to My Strongest Suit from Aida, it’s a bop). It’s funny how the TMNT rock show is how she got her start. Also I’m so happy the cancelled Hallmark movie was mentioned. I can never find anyone talking about that. So funny how the people who are mainly known for doing cheesy Christmas movies almost did the Turtles.

For real, TMNT 2007 is a good movie. But it was more a Raph and Leo movie rather then an all-four turtles movie

I'll add a little more to your Iceberg. 1.The first movie was an independent film because all the major studios rejected it. New Line cinema would later distribute it. 2. Master Tatsu who was in the first two movies was also featured in the Hypnoheist game as well as appeared in the 2012 cartoon's 5th season in one episode. 3. Vanilla Ice, Following his Ninja Rap song, he was shown to be a TMNT fan. He has since got the 80s cartoon logo tattoed on him, his "Ice Ice Baby" song was briefly heard in the Out of the shadows movie, and Michelangelo has a poster of him in the IDW comics. 4. WWE, There's a figure line of TMNT dressed as various WWE legends. Sting who had joined WWE at the time promoted it. Also Kevin Nash portrayed Super Shredder, John Cena has done voice work for Baron Draxium and Rocksteady, and Sheamus was Rocksteady in Out of the Shadows. 5. Mortal Kombat (Liu Kang specifically), both TMNT and Mortal Kombat have shared actors who have all portrayed Liu Kang. Brian Tocci who did the voice for Leonardo in the movies, was Liu Kang in the Defenders of the realm cartoon. Ho Sung Pak who was Liu Kang in the first two games was a stunt double in the Raphael costume. Brian Tee who portrayed Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat legacy show, portrays Shredder in Out of the shadows. 6. Yukio Mishima. An infamous Japanese author name was used not once but twice for two TMNT characters. Yukio Mashimi from the 2003 cartoon and Oyuki Mashimi in the TMNT adventures comic
