Started learning the ZvZ build... I feel I always lose too much at the beginning but when I win it's because of the non stop aggression. Opponents will usually try to tech up and that's when they die. In any case it's a very cool build and very fun to play and I haven't won once without the opponent raging and calling me names LUL!

I was in plat 1 for a very long time following the platinum video, I felt like I had already picked up everything so I moved on to the new build order. It was extremely good for me and efficient as hell but I never managed to break through plat. Then after a forced break I came back, couldnt do the new build order and hopped back on the roach push. I like how you go in-depth on note-taking and analysis. Most guides focus on what to do during the game, not before and after. I'm a martial artist. I'm one of the highest ranking students at my school. Me and the other top student have one thing in common - a notebook that we write in after every class. We write down new drills we learned, advice we got, etc. I agree this is something that can really help, and you can do a lot of it yourself. Or if you get in a position where you don't know how to respond to something, at least you have specific questions you can ask.

Watch your replays. Note down the times that they're moving out. Note your own forces and free supply at this time. This might help you decide how best to modify your build order to counter them.

I will give you a Word Micro advice, PiG: you don’t need highlight the whole phrase in order to make it a header. You just need to put the cursor on the same line and select “header”. It will apply to the whole paragraph the cursor is in 😊

My problems (as zerg): I loose against protoss when: They cannon rush me. They go air harass (voids). They go multi Colossus Stalker. I loose against terran when: They push early with tanks + bio. When they go turtle mech and then destroy me with tanks + thors. When they do constant harass with libs / drop play. In general I always loose to tanks because I have no clue how to engage this kind of army. So yes, I loose all the time and I have no clue how to stop it :-). I think I have to switch races :-)

- Pull a shit ton of drones if caught early. / give up base, expand elsewhere, rush ravagers. - Make more queens, go hydras/mutas. - Macro better. Make more units. - Scout it early. Macro better. Make more units. - Expand everywhere, get all upgrades, tech to tier 3. - Have a drop defense control group. - Flanks. But switch races if you want.

No don't pull a shit ton of drones. That guy is lieing. It's 4 drones per Canon. The best way to stave off a C rush, is 2nd overlord floats outside natural to watch for the probe. The best way to stop air is Against toss hydra lurker is deviating always try to get to that point roach hydra lurker. It also stops collisi stalker As for terran, your best option is mass ling bane hydra. Don't try for mutas not even for harass. And if you scout a star port, no shame in putting down some spores. If it's tank heavy ling bane hydra lurker. If it's only tanks, make a few mutas to shut it down. But below D2 mass roach hydra kills everyone if you can get the macro timing. By 8:30-9mins you should be maxed 200 supply 80-85 drones and 3,3 upgrades. It's a nice build. And don't be afraid to check out ViBe's B-GM as well, thats why all the B-GM's are there. To help us.

I was wondering if you can fit in the evo chambers in with the the roach warren at 34-36 supply, and evos around 42 supply. When I do this build I usually float 400-550 mins with the 2 bases saturated. Also I'd love to see you use contaminate on their structures with your overseer because well I know it'd frustrate the crap outta them XD. I only watch competitive SC2 casually and I've never played the game. Played some of the original SC campaign and that's about it. But I enjoy watching because it's just amazing how much these players are managing. And I've inferred a lot from commentary but so often I've wanted to just understand what these players are actually doing. So even though I'm unlikely to ever put any of this knowledge in to practice, it's been very rewarding just getting an explanation of what's happening so I have a better idea of what's actually going on and what players are attending to.

So if your opponent is building lets say… Bashees and running sapper missions on your drone with them. I would 100% build the hydra den and make 5-10 hydras for defense. And start immediate upgrades.

i seem to remember some Serral games where he went only queens up to the late game (Broodlords/infestators), maybe thats why some people are so hung up on "why no more queens". Then again Serral easily goes to 4-5 Bases to inject/defend (and he is a pro...), so he has more "natural" uses for more queens...

I posted on your previous b2gm plat video about getting stuck in platinum. Ended up quitting the game after that post but came back recently. Was able to get up to diamond 3 comfortably but another brick wall has formed. I think the 2 base all in style has basically taught me nothing. I've hit another wall and when we are supposed to switch to your 3 base macro style I find myself either instantly losing to early pressure or having the game dragon on for 30 minutes only to lose to a maxed out army. Diamond 3 is not fun at all and I'm considering quitting again. I'm pretty sure the only reason I haven't been demoted all the way back to plat 3 is that people leaving games gives me just enough MMR buff to keep me in position. I don't actually feel myself improving at all.

I have a question: In game 1 Pig did not make any lings as his ling speed was finishing up as I've learned is standard (from Vibe). What was the tell for him to be so greedy? I switched to Zerg recently and I'm starting to understand the playstyles. however, although my macro is very good I lose a lot of fights with roach hydra. either vs bioball + tank or mech, or vs Toss that include immortals. I feel like many of the guys just have more army earlier or they turtle up and trade better. you would say i should punish this with superior macro, but when they move out they stage and fight just better. many of the games I see im b2gm are similar to my usual ladder games, except my opponents do army up way more. dont know if this is a european thing, but it def seems more aggressive and well staged. even in plat..

and its not that i dont scout well. i know when i have to make more army. but i cant count the times where T goes near my natural, sieges up and has the bio shielding the tanks. or similar with toss. And yes, i have minimum same army supply, but I jist get shredded and then they are aleady in my main killing my tech. then i sit there with 2 more bases and good eco while I watch myself die. i like zerg but with terran i knew what do to in each situation, and often won even when behind. with zerg its the opposite for me..

Yeah, I'm at the point where I've watched enough of PiG's videos to know what I need to do, I just can't execute it. I'm better than I was before I started watching, but it's going to take a lot of games before I can even comfortably do the first 60 seconds without frantically trying to remember everything, build overlord, build drones, set cameras, set control groups, set rally points, move overlords, build hatchery... It would be really fun to be good enough that you could just randomly chat about everything without having to really focus on it.

To anyone gold league or below watching this, don't worry if you don't pick it up in a few weeks. Pigs been playing for almost a decade to get to this level. Things start to get very difficult around the platinum league as Z and you will hit a wall for a while where you just get outplayed because half of the players left on sc2 now have been playing for at least 5 years and will have all the cheese builds and counters in their heads. It's a long slog to get to masters and a lot of people don't make it for years, if ever at all. Takes thousands of games to get the experience required to do it. Good luck on the ladder! Ohh and another thing to remember is just to enjoy the game for what it is. If you focus on winning you're going to have a rough time like I did. You're going to lose 50% of your games even when your masters and that's just the way the game is.

I love your videos. I understand your tactics, advices, mindset. However your speed is not near what I can achive. I have arround 90 APM with 3,2k MMR EU. And I hit the wall, cuz I cannot do anything faster anymore. 2 Libs can cut my production in half, I'm so slow that I can deal with 1 Lib only, before I'll check the second one, queen and 10 drones are dead. It's sad, cuz I watch my own replay, I know where I did mistake, and I remamber the moment, that I wanted to do 2 things, but I ended up doing one, for the second thing was too late. I have no idea how you can increase APM. No knowledge is helping me right now.

Keep it up yo! Focus on one thing at a time, don't worry about losing. Micro-ing to defend against drops or libs takes practice. You only go up against these things on ladder once in a while, so it takes time to build up skills to defend it.

The ZvZ ling bane build is not helpful at all when it comes to teaching/learning ZvZ. I'm struggling in Dia-1 against all races. Constantly up and down between 3700-3900mmr. And I would never ever do that build. It's basically half drones on natural and never saturating thrid. No macro just keep flooding ling bane over and over as instructed. For no reason. And in this case, it's just a GM pro instructor killing lower ranked opponents with no actual lesson for Diamond users. You could have done this build from the start if you just want to kill opponents at lower rank rather than teach a helpful build for ZvZ. You know they're never going to be able to fight this. And just nonstop ling/bane on them. And for the rest of us who are able to shut it down, it can be identified a mile away. A third at that timing always means opponent is never going to drone up and just flood lings and banes. You can wall with evo and make 2 spines. But I would never use this build against an opponent. You're just throwing everything in on a coin flip to either win or lose. Never macro or do anything instructive. Yes some of the tips are very helpful. But not helpful taking third, then leaving half saturation at second, and not macro into higher tech.
