Honestly never a single problem with hooks, I'm always mindful of them and where I put my rods, I've rod holders and any fish that enters the boat it's either unhooked at the side in a net or under control in my hands. I've heard of others having problems but I think they're just novice fisher's and their handling skills probably aren't great which is expected lol
