@@sneakykidd6848 I have typed a response but it somehow got deleted? Your take is a bad one, in my opinion. Let me explain why... You are correct with the fact that there are fantasy worlds where gods are that... Cruel, arrogant and unfair beings that care only about their own business. However there are also fantasy universes where good gods exist. Where they do care about mortals, where they do everything in their power to help them. This is one of such worlds. In original campaign Pike never abaddoned Everlight and Everlight helped with anything she could have as long as she could have. I am not a big fan of this change and there are people who also dislike it. The universes where all gods are simply evil and unworthy of worship, are rather bland and unoriginal. The universes where they are both good and bad, and are actually doing everything in their power to help mortals are in my opinion far more interesting because it forces the writers to flesh out both the gods and paladins in interesting manner... Look at Torm sacrificing himself in Forgotten Realms or Bahamut dying (he was later brought back) to save his friends. It makes you question whenever good gods should act in a more cruel and strict way to achieve their goals. The idea that all gods are evil and the only road for a good paladins and clerics is to leave them... Is rather boring as it was done Plenty of Times. Way more than the gods being actually good or mixed.

@@Meshifuari I am a fan of the change, I think it's an interesting plot point to have Pike's faith in the Everlight be brought into question and having it to where it can't always help her when she needs it. I think it's a fine balance of giving Pike some self confidence instead of consistently hoping the Everlight will help I wouldn't like it if they framed the Everlight as a bad god though, I prefer them as good just not always able to help in every situation

Everyone all worried about her throwing the "Everlight" away and it's just silly. They have been continually telling us over the last 3 season's that Pike's not sure where her power comes from. Is it something that she is doing herself or only being granted by someone else or something. This moment is not her rejecting the Everlight but instead finally believing in herself. We all know she isn't a stereotypical follow of a deity, but she has always helped the Everlight when she could.

Not a big fan of Pike throwing away her faith in Everlight. I am all about character growth and Pike having more confidence in her own skills, because there are places where Everlight simply cannot help... However the idea that she could not use her vestige due to her faith in god is rather irritating. It has never happened in the original campaign and in this show it is so far depicted as a good thing. Which I don't like. Having good gods that you can rely on in fantasy worlds is in my opinion better than simple idea that all gods are arrogant and selfish.
@alexkautz8912 ай бұрын
This is a good point, but I'm not sire that's what they meant with Pike's moment here. From the beginning of season one, Pike has relied on the Everlight not just for power, but also for guidance. So much so that when she was cut off, she abandoned the group for a while. She has such extreme faith in her goddess, in her friends, but very little in herself. This is a consistent trait throughout the series. By casting aside the Everlight pendant, I don't think she's truely abandoning her faith, but instead purposefully putting herself in a position where she can only rely on herself (away from her goddess, away from her friends). Her self-confidence is what allowed her to weild the armor, not giving up religion. At least, that's how I see it.
@Musician04892 ай бұрын
I don't think it was about forsaking her god, so much as it was about not relying on her as much and believing in her own abilities.
@shazaz10592 ай бұрын
I don't think they're trying to paint the Everlight as some arrogant or even selfish god, more so that Pike relies too much on the faith of the Everlight in situations where it can't help her as much as she'd want it to Pike having personal feats and potential keeps her entire skill set from being defined by the Everlight alone, it's a separation that helps her stand out I'm sure Pike will eventually learn to balance having faith in herself and the Everlight (we'll just have to see how the rest of the episodes and next season goes) also just because it didn't happen in the original campaign doesn't exactly mean the show has to follow all of the plot threads one to one
