More car videos on gtchannel.com. Ride on the bumper of a screaming 910hp, Twin-Turbo, All-wheel Drive, 150 mph Suzuki SX4 as it races up one of the world's most dangerous hills. An attempt by the "Monster" to break his own record of 10:01:41...For the fifth consecutive time, Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima combined experience, skill and Falken Tires to claim overall victory in the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Although he did not set a new Pikes Peak record, one day before his 60th birthday, Tajima continues to hold the current overall record forreaching the peak, beating hill climb veterans Paul Dallenbach and Rhys Millen in the Unlimited Class. He drove his new 910-hp MonsterSport Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special on Falken Wild Peak A/T tires, the powerful new line of all-terrain, all-season tires Falken launched this past April. Following exhaustive tests in a Japanese wind tunnel facility, Monster's 2010 Pikes Peak race car underwent extensive aerodynamic changes to better adapt to the modified road surface on the race to the clouds, which assumed a smoother tarmac and less gravel than last year. Thinning air ascending the mountain robs most motors of their power by 30 or more percent, but the increase in horsepower over last year's race car helped push the driver forward.

Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak was a monster, 985 Horsepower, engine V6 DOHC twin turbo de 1998 cc!!! But this one, Suzuki SX4, a 3.1-liter twin-turbo V6 with 897 horsepower, 654 torque is coming to compete against th old Suzuki Escudo!! Both of this two cars are real MONSTERS!!The Hillclimb should called Tajima's Hillclimb, he's the man. Nobuhiro Tajima will make history!!!

Driving off road takes skill. All the mistakes you make on the pavement, no matter how small they are, show up in the dirt. The more power and torque your car has, the harder to control. I didn't like this driver's lines, but it's still very impressive to see how much control he has under those conditions at his speeds. Fortunately, it was the hill climb. If it were the downhill...

Wow !, Acceleration 0-62mph in 2.2 seconds (0-100km/h). Gran Turismo is real !. Anyways. Nobuhiro Tajima should drive he's cars on Race Tracks such as Laguna Seca, to set laps and compare them with other Race Machines. We would all like to see the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak '98 vs a Formula 1 on a Track (real life), it's extremely unlikely to beat a Formula 1, but it would be good, you know, to watch them race together. I just wish Tajima would read this comment and use he's cars more :)

@Aralmo640 all of the aerodynamics on that car produce a tremendous amount of downforce and the car is actually 4w/awd, which is what the sx4 refers to. beyond that, this man is so unbelievably skilled that noone has beaten him since he started racing in this event.

@jimiot Believe me, I've looked. They're pretty hard to find for a reasonable price around my area. Either they're kept up or modified really nice and owners are asking for a lot, or they've been beaten to heck and are FWD. Settled on a first gen Toyota MR2, which has a nice MMR layout and about the same horsepower as the North American first gen Impreza.

@acehole1990 That's your opinion. One could argue that you're never safe crossing any road because you might get hit by a car. In fact driving around that 900HP car, with all its safety equipment and rollcage etc, is probably safer than driving your own car down the highway.

@PranksAreUs83 Not too sure how different the SX4 is from the Suzuki Escudo. But the Escudo was in most of the GT games including GT:Portable which came out last fall. So I'm 100% sure it'll be in GT5. Not too sure about Pike's Peak being in the game though.

@bradleyblackster A Turbocharged engines loses about 10-12% power at 7,000 feet, where as a Naturally aspirated engine loses 20-25% of its power at 7,000 feet. It is safe to say that this turbocharged 900 Horsepower engine at the top of Pikes Peak had lost 20-30% of its power, in addition to suffering engine failure 500 meters from the finish.

@DC08SI do you know anything about a pikes peak car? the car in your video doesnt have anything like 900hp in an extremely light car and in the ares that you say he could "improve" he couldnt do a better job actually no one can "improve" there thats the optimum way to take those turns , remember pikes peak cars use Dirt tires Not slicks

@BrosefDudley I know how safe modern day race cars are but the point is driving a 900 horse power car on a dirt road is never really going to be safe. Just like all racing, the cars are very safe, but racing will always be extremely dangerous.
