Rowdyness it might be because of different resources on their planet. Their planet and species seem to be completely different from ours, considering the atmosphere is completely different on their planet and oxygen kills them. Just a theory though, it would explain why they don't understand light bulbs as they may have something else in place of them.

the first time I fought this boss, I think i had around 100 pikmin at the start of the fight, and when I somehow beat him on my first try, I was left with only ONE either red or yellow pikmin...

iAlphafox12 I was able to beat him before he got up fully, by spamming purples and purple potions. I got it before the machine gun started. I felt super cheap afterwards though. Also I had to reset because I missed the purple potion

I like how at one point when you're fighting the Man-At-Legs the Wistful Wild music sounds like a war march. And then, after it's defeated, the quiet music plays, and it's so PERFECT.

Purples were probably actually not the best choice against the man-at-legs. Not only are Purples the slowest, but Yellows would have missed a lot less, and Reds actually do more damage than Purples when latched on-- the damage advantage of Purples comes solely from the impact of their "thud" attack, which can't normally hit something this tall (Though to be fair, you did actually get some mileage out of that attack at the beginning before it stood up). EDIT: Never mind, purples still do hit _slightly_ harder than reds even when latched on. But purples are still slow, and have a harder time latching on to tall or airborne enemies in the first place due to their different throw animation.

The Man-at-Legs wasn't actually very hard - it's better to use Yellows. I only had to reset once on my No Death Run.

In transitioning from Pikmin to Pikmin 2 all those years ago when I played these games, Man at Legs was the most surprising boss! I loved it! I honestly cannot wait to see what's in store for us in Pikmin 3!

Emile is somewhat correct, there is a limitation to Violet Candypop buds in the Emergence Cave, the buds will only be there the first time you go in, most likely on day 2, after that, they won't be there. This may also apply to the white Candypop buds in the White Flower Garden, though I'm not sure.

For the Man-at-legs to shoot at the carrots, you basically have to sit there for a long time throwing carrots at it and annoy it. It's rare to make it shoot the carrots, but it does on occasion.

Man-at-Legs is my favorite boss in the game. Love that machine gun it fires at you. I don't understand why Chuggaconroy makes it out to be a hard boss, I can usually beat it without any loses even though I always attack it with my entire army instead of using a small group.

The Violet Candypop Buds in the Emergence Cave will dissappear when you have at least 20 purple pikmin TOTAL (Yeah, I know the game is a jerk). Tip: This still allows you to get up to 29 purples on day 2, meaning that you can bypass the Hole of Beasts and go into the White Flower Garden first.

6:03, there are only two violet candypop buds in the emergence cave, and you can only use them the first time they appear. They disappear for good after using them once!

When the violet candy pop buds are used in every other dungeon, they reappear after leaving the dungeon and coming back. However, when you use the violet candy pop buds in the Emergence Cave, they disappear for good once you use them on day 2, and they don't reappear after that because they considered that we'd try to carry out this strategy once we knew that we could. Ergo, they purposely programmed that strategy inert only in the Emergence Cave and not in any other dungeon period.

While this let’s play is years old at this point, i do have some insight on why the emergence cave just doesn’t work for getting 100 Purple Pikmin. Once you have 20 or so purples, the violet candypop buds just won’t spawn. You can, however, pay off the entire debt with just the treasure and snow bulborbs in the emergence cave, so there’s that.

Yeah true. Cause when I was younger I kept doing that even without taking any purples with me and the Violet Buds never spawned. The Hole of Beasts ones don't spawn much either so yeah subterranean complex is the best cause they will spawn each time and you can get 15 whites as well

I did the Submerged Castle without even even triggering the water wraith (aside from the boss fight), had 90 deaths and spent the rest of the day getting more blues, to the point where I ended up with more blues than when I started.

(WARNING: This may make you never want to go in the ocean again) A Portuguese man-a-war (I think thats right) is in the same phylum as jellyfish, and are one of the deadliest creatures in the sea. They look like pretty plastic bags, but have at least 10 feet long tentacles, each with extremely strong stinging cells that could kill you instantly. At least, I'm pretty sure that's right.

In my opinion this is one of the easiest boss battles in the game. I faced the man-at-legs with all 100 of my pikmin and didn't lose a single one. The best strategy I found for fighting this boss is getting out of his range of gunfire by running constantly, and then attacking when he gets tired.

Technically the gun the Man-At-Legs uses isn't a machine gun, it's a miniature naval canon, it's scientific name means "Fake Spider Of Navarone" kinda like the film The Guns of Navarone, the same guns where used in that movie. That's why it doesn't fire as rapid as a machine gun.
