So for my size it has been added to purchase the 80 inch, but that the 80 inch does not allow for use if jump board. I really want the machine to fit me But vthen I can't use the jumpboard. What would you suggest?
@PILATESOLOGY

Hi Shawn. I would suggest to get an 86" inch if you want to use a jumpboard.

Very good video, easy to unterstand, but not easy to do at the beginning :-) But, what is the purpose of this small blue blanket she has to sit on? I have never seen that at other pilates instructions.

It's a sticky mat, it helps you to not slide around.

What is the traditional recommendation for the gear bar? Center? Many thanks!
@PILATESOLOGY
@PILATESOLOGY Жыл бұрын
Hi Tiffany - The first gear nearest the footbar is the traditional setting for a Gratz Reformer. The 2nd and 3rd gears are made for taller people (over 6'4" generally) and are sometimes used for individual body needs or specific exercises like the Control Balance Push Ups. Let me know if you have any more questions :)

Does the machine create resistance by pushing and pulling through a two way tension? I assume that it does work pos/neg, but if someone could help me with a comment I would be very thankful.
@PILATESOLOGY
@PILATESOLOGY Жыл бұрын
Hi. Great question. No, the springs create one way tension for example when you’re pushing against the footbar you’re extending the spring. A particular feature of the Gratz equipment however (because it follows JP’s original design) is the weight of the carriage which requires effort to move and therefore a kind of two way tension when you pull the carriage back in.

Hi. I’m curious if that is an 80” reformer? Anyone know? I don’t think I heard it mentioned.

Matthew, I'm not sure what size Kathi uses. We have 2 86 inchers and 1 80--the 80 is an archive version which I really like. Unless you're really petite I would go for the 86 (because you can use a jumpboard with an 86 and its fun!)

@@PILATESOLOGY Thank you for the Reply. I know the Jump Board is always a blast. I'm 5'7. I've mentored mostly people up to 5'10, while I do have the occasional 6'2" :). I might have limited space for the area I'm looking to fill and I thought having the uniform 80" Caddy and Reformer to be a good way to do that (yes I know of the Combo but that is not the route I'm going). I was just trying to see what major cons there are to the 80" as I hadn't used it much at Brooke's and Barbara's Studios ;)

It's fine for your height but your tall clients won't find it as easy to use

I have never seen an instructor wearing HEELS??? Also, stepping on reformer??? Very odd ... dangerous. You never mentioned sizes of people or spring settings ... stoppers.

I like you Kathi, but your high school education is glaringly obvious here. Not everyone has the same hand width, not to mentions the same length torso or legs, or width of the shoulders. So no, the proportions do not "fit every body" regardless of height.
@jenmb2679

What? No tension. One length straps? Every body is different. What a load of crap. Ooh now they are adding accessories as if the reformers arent expensive enough already?

They are ridiculous expensive, lol. I've seen them priced between 5,000$ - 10,000$. Which is just insane...
