Gene: a note from the cheap seats here. I'm an octogenarian who's relegated to MSFS these days. I want to sincerely thank you for providing me, via your videos, with procedural details for which I've been searching for quite a while. EG: proper use of a turbine aircraft's condition lever. Most of the so-called "FS gurus" can't seem to wait to jam it into Flight Idle seconds after engine start, and it stays there until shutdown!!😢 I never felt this was correct, and it has been so very satisfying to observe you showing us the proper way in which it *should* be done!😊 Cheers, and thanks again, Gene. -Jon H Dartmouth, Nose Kosher Canuckistan

Hey Gene, love your videos, you do a great job instructing / discussing the PC-12. Just curious, have you, or would you consider working up a video on the GTN 650 & 750. If not can you recommend a good instructional video? Thanks, stay safe

Thanks, Dave! There's a useful app for learning the GTN 650/750 on the app store (definitely available on iOS; not sure about Android). Search "Garmin GTN Trainer" by Garmin DCI. It's great for learning the menu architecture, features, etc.

Thank you very much for the content’s quality of your videos Gene. What’s the category performance of the PC12, please? With such a low speed approach, is it considered as category A < 90 kt?

Thank you, Romain! As for your question, we select the approach minima category based on the indicated airspeed at which we fly the final approach segment so pilot preference makes a difference here. I fly the approach at 110 KIAS which means I'm required to use category B minima. The airplane is definitely capable of a final approach speed of less than 90 KIAS though, so a pilot who flies the approach as slowly as he/she can would be required to use category A minima in most cases. Note that this only applies to instrument approach procedures. When flying visually I fly "the donut" or DSB, 1.3 X Vso. We fly instrument approaches a bit faster for several reasons. Hope this helps!

@@GeneStuart Thanks a lot for your answer! Yes, I saw some of your other videos, especially in busy airspace. I was a bit confused with the Aircraft approach category as with reference to Part-CAT, CAT.OP.MPA.320(b), the approach category for the PC12 is category A. Then, I forgot that this category is based on the approach speed provided by the manufacturer and need to be reconsidered if operators increase the approach speed. Good refresher of the ATPL, thanks! DSB is for Dynamic Speed Bug? Mean the "AoA indicator"? Isn't it?

@@babo0n34 Anytime, my friend! Yes -- DSB is Dynamic Speed Bug, displayed on the airspeed tape in the NG. It indicates 1.3 X Vs in the given configuration. Cheers!

Another great share, thanks. Question on landing flaps. Perhaps for a future video (if you don't want to type it all out). What is the consideration for when you choose 15, versus 30, versus full? Terminal area traffic? Available runway length? Trying to make an early taxiway? Let's assume no icing.
