Corporate can be a great choice. I’ve been flying for 32 years. Back in the late 90s, I flew part 135 for 5 years and it has been corporate for me ever since. I’ve been with the same corporate flight department now for 19 years. To me it’s the best job ever. I get to do mixed fleet flying and fly all over the world. And in corporate, that means you get to sit somewhere for an extended period of time and actually see some of the world besides airports and hotel rooms.

Thanks for the ride! I ferried a Cessna 150 from Boise to Dallas many years ago. Left DFW at 10:am, departed Boise at 11:am. Stopped in Salt Lake for fuel, spent the night in Grand Junction, flew through Monarch Pass and stopped in Salida for fuel, coffee, weather check, and scrape the ice off the windscreen. Snow flakes began to fall the size of golf balls so I blasted off to stay ahead of the front. Headed for Colorado Springs then a turn south toward Amarillo and didn't make it. Too much snow and had to spend the night in Dalhart Texas. Made it home the next day but that is a trip I learned a lot from and loved the scenery around Boise because it is similar to Northern California where I learned to fly. Looking forward to your trips, I can't stand what's on TV anymore but keeping up with YT pilot friends is fun for me. I remember taxiing in to Salt Lake the evening I landed there for fuel there were two or three FBO's out there and they had guys out by the taxiway trying to wave me in! They were in competition I reckon but I thought it was funny. They needed sign spinners with the lowest fuel prices printed on them.

Interesting view of behind the scenes work on the flight planning, etc. I like to see what routines different pilots do to prepare for flights, what things they find important, and things like that. It looked like the running captions kind of had a stroke there, and the AI just kind of gave up in frustration at times. Kind of amusing on a certain level. Was wondering how it was to fly the SUV of the skies, the "Flattest PC-12 [dramatic music]!" Auto caption definitely does not understand ATC chatter. Keep up the good work. Very interesting stuff. You'll find the right balance of editing, music, and other stuff at some point. I've worked both 91 corporate and 121 and there's pros and cons to each and different choices for each person's individual preference. I know you emphasized that in the video but there's a giant red thumbnail saying otherwise. For the last year I was home every night working in 121 so it IS possible. I enjoy my 121 job a lot and all the benefits airline flying provides and it works for me. It could work for others too, maybe not. Either way, I wish I saw more education on both sides out there. @@pilotkaity Congratulations on posting your first vlog! I'm sorry if I was harsh but for those of us with vertigo problems intrusive captions, excessive quick cuts & wavering images can make viewing videos difficult. I'm working on my first vlog about my chainsaw & it won't be nearly as polished as yours.

The subtitles are unwatchable. They flash on the screen for too short a time to read. Rather than rapidly scrolling on screen left to right and disappearing, it would be better to put the whole caption on screen one line at a time.

Yeah this is the first video that I watch on this channel and jeez those Captions are so annoying and wrong too. Clearly not enough time spent editing this video. It’s sad because the content is actually good but the captions ruin this video completely
@randyeno25254 ай бұрын
Congrats as well. A good first effort. You’ve already received the caption feedback. I would also suggest a more judicious use of background music. It’s not value added except during intros, and endings of your video or if you are showing non-procedural portions such as scenic views. The rest of the time we want to hear you and ATC. Otherwise all good!

I really enjoy following the process in the cockpit - this post was rather difficult since the commentary was fast and lots of mumbling it seems. I am used to the American accent! . In general rather disappointing, regret to report but said with a warm heart. Phil 🇬🇧

"Better than the airlines..." -- Fuckin A right it is. 91 or 135 or Medevac is the only way to go. I dunno how people can "long" for the droning monotony of Part 121. Spend years in the right seat being a useless extra appendage. Then "move up" to the left seat so you can watch the AP fly the entire leg. ZZZZZzzzzzzz......Single-Pilot PIC baby - rock on!

Engineer is a great career as well! What type of engineering?
@tvz8576 ай бұрын
@@pilotkaity I’m an electrical engineer. It is a great career don’t get me wrong. But I also had a fascination with flying. During one of those career days at school I talked to an Air Force recruiter about being a pilot. He told me that you had to have 20/20 uncorrected vision. Unfortunately information wasn’t as easy as google back in 1985 and I wanted to be in a STEM (don’t know what it was called back then) field so I chose engineering. Never tried to pursue flying because I was too busy trying to make it as electrical power systems engineer. And the rest is history. I did spend 20 years in the ANG so I did at least get close to airplanes doing that.

I’ve been flying corporate for most of my career. (Been flying for 32 years) Couldn’t be more stable and the pay is great too. I’ve had friends at the airlines who were furloughed multiple times. I never had to worry. The thing is, for those friends, it’s a job. They always complain. For me, it feels like a hobby and I’m getting paid. I fly all over the world and actually get to stay for a while in those places.
