As an oldie but goldie, I will lose the winter fuel payment. On the day it was announced, I prayed to Lord as my Provider. 40 years ago, my fellowship and I gave £200 to a relative of mine who was in trouble. On the same day that I asked the Lord to provide for me, a cheque arrived from this relative, out of the blue. £200 as a gift. Nothing to do withe the winter fuel payment. I will never ever lose the wonder of God's care and love for me. I truly know Him as Jehovah Jireh. To God be all the Glory.

I had an answer to prayer that will stay with me. 2016 & my brother had just got home from the hospital after suffering a stroke. I was already looking after my Dad who was getting increasingly frail & prone to falls as well as suffering from cancer. I was caring for both of them. At night I cried out to God in desperation as I had nowhere to turn for help. A short while later we had visits from 2 women that we had.never met. Each one contributed to us getting the help we needed. It was a mighty answer to prayer & miracle all rolled into one. Praise God!

I am now 80 yrs of ago. When I was about 9 yrs old my mum was seriously ill with what seemed like fits but they couldn't find out what was wrong, no scans in those days. One-night I heard my dad crying over her before rushing up the road to call the doctor. I lay in bed with my fingers in my ears and prayed for healing for my mum. The next few days she recovered completely and it was only 21 yrs later after a post mortem that we discovered she had a massive brain tumour. The coroner couldn't understand how she had managed to function up to a couple of months before she died and said she'd had this tumour for many many years. Teach your children, their prayers are very powerful and the Lord hears and answers. Blessings on you all.

What a blessing to hear your prayer for the southern US. My family have just lived through the hurricane and were able to get a flight to be with family in another part of the US. Even though we experienced the storm and severe damage in our locality, we did not know the extense of the damage until we were away from the storm area and were able to catch up with the news. How wonderful to find you had been praying for us and God made a way for us to escape and get the children safe. Praying now for all the people working. Today Emergency Services broke through to an area where they were save to save 106 souls. Praise God.

I want to share a testimony of healing. For over three years my wife and I experienced infertility. The emotional toll was great, especially on my wife. We tried lifestyle adjustment (sleep, exercise, diet, vitamins, etc.) for a long time. Lots of research and heartbreak. We considered medical intervention but were made uncomfortable by talk of drugs and things like that. This past July, we were leaving a church meeting on a Tuesday night. Our priest asked us to stay behind for a moment. He told us that he had an overwhelming prompting by the Holy Spirit to pray for our family to grow. He anointed us with oil and prayed for us. Three weeks later we had a positive pregnancy test, and our baby is due in April! We give praise and recognition to the living God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Thank you for another illuminating session! You asked us to report our miracle healings, and so I must share that our wonderful Lord healed me of cancer over 40 years ago and has kept me cancer-free since then. I wasn’t a Christian but was struggling, lost in occult darkness, and facing a hysterectomy from cancer in a few days. I was 35 years old and had never had a child, plus I’d had a miscarriage a year before. Several days before the operation, I visited a Christian friend who gave me a little booklet about how Christ still heals today. As I was reading it, I came upon the words, “It’s a simple matter for Christ to put His hand on the chaos that is cancer and bring order,” and as I read those words, the Heavens opened, and He embraced me with His great love and healed me. He then said I was going to have a baby and directed me to start attending a certain church with my husband. My doctor turned out to be a Christian who’d been praying for me and had seen other such miracles. My husband, who’d been raised a Marxist atheist, got saved shortly afterward. (I should say we spent our first 14 years together in the New Age psychedelic counterculture of San Francisco during the 60s.) A year after my healing, our son was born, and today we have 3 wonderful grandchildren! Along the way, the Lord taught me a whole new way to eat and maintain my healing. Both of us became Christians, and a few years ago wrote a futuristic, sci-if thriller take on our rescue called “The Glittering Web.” Over the years, we’ve seen our wonderful Lord do many miracles. 😊 Praise Him!

Well said on all the issues, Brett. You only have to read the books of Kings and Chronicles to see how God allowed his chosen people to reap the reward of their own wickedness - often by refusing to defend them from the natural consequences of their faithlessness. We in the Western world have turned our backs on God and a natural consequence is that people can no longer think clearly at the most basic level let alone in terms of leading a Christian church or wisely governing a nation.

Thank you for the prayer for those suffering from Hurricane Helene. I grew up in Tennessee, but have many friends in Western North Carolina. I have some friends in Waynesville, NC, and Erwin, TN, that are completely wiped out. It was a hard time because that was about to be the fall colors tourism season that a lot of that area is economically dependent on is wiped out for the year.

Re: The elderly heat allowance. So, cut off the heat allowance, the elderly get sick and then the NHS health bill will become at least 3 times higher looking after the sick than paying the heat allowance. 40:05 you’ll find that the numbers that are estimated to die this winter are around 1 million vulnerable people (including OAPs) because the govt have also stopped the warm grants. The vulnerable are scared to put the heating on & cooking food.

NZ Anglican has brought in a Canon D safe guarding procedure. But they have had to out of embarrassing past issues. The church in England had the debacle with bishop Peter from York. The church has tried to be "nice" by hiding or moving offenders. Ignored the 2 witnesses mentioned in scripture and now face the truth that the Lord has/is withdrawing the Spirit. Just as a fact check there Brett, the winter fuel payments will still be laid to those with incomea under around £12,000 ( basically those who have less than a fully paid up state penaion) and is only £200 fir pensioners or £300 for over 80s. Ir was only introduced in 23-24. The change has been that it was previously paid to all pensioners regardless of income, butvnkw itvwill become mwns teated so jt gows to the mkst vulnerable. This is relly lazy politicing and quite diasapointing Brett. I would agree that pensioner on say 13k a uear that will now not get the extra £200 is likely to struggle, but the reality is that the issue is more to do with the state pension being too low for modern standards of living, and the low uptake of pension credit, than this provision. But dont ket that het in the way if lazy poltical point scoring.

Basically whilst there are some elderly people that can afford to pay their fuel bills, many pensioners are on a limited income and those who are just above the basic threshold will be unable to claim the winter fuel payment. I am not scoring political points, but it is completely un godly to allow poor people to be unable to keep warm when they have payed into this country's taxes their whole working life. I am disgusted by this action.

@@nadiagoddard227 I sympathise, my mum's in the same boat with an income of around 13k. But ungodly is a little strong. If it is ungodly to remove a non means tested benefit, it is also ungodly not to have. Basic state pension that cannot cover basic costs. By introducing an emergency winter fuel payment rather than in reading the state pension to cover basic needs it always allowed for it to be easily removed. The simplest and most sensible thing would be to increase the basic base line. This would allow those drawing more in additional personal pensions to be raised into tax brackets on the additional income at higher levels. This was not done because it would permanently raise the public sector spend on the welfare bill (of which pensions are a major and the largest part). This was a conservative party decision in the previous government. The reason it was not done was because it would make clear that the basic income needed for survival needs to be higher that current benefit levels provide a cross the board, and would reflect negatively on things like the minimum wage and the benefits cap. If we put aside the horrible overspend in the budget - we should observe that we have more children in poverty now than we have in a generation - yet this is missed in cheap political pokes and accusations of Stalinism and all that nonsense. If we want better pensions, services and some form of effective safety net, and health care, it has to come out of taxation. There really is no other way it can work. But that gets called communism by the ame narrow minded people that accuse Starmer of being a Stalinist.
