This isn't the only way to do it.
It's probably not the best way to do it.
But it's how I did it.

Great mailbag! Please do a rubber stamp project video. I have heard that Santa may be bringing me a laser cutter since I have been extra good this year. Making rubber stamps sounds fun.

Maybe you could reverse the black part of the swing arm supports and stick a laser engraved rubber stamp on it. You would then have your stamp handle, just a thought. thanks for sharing.
@DustinWatts

This is a good idea... those things make great stamp handles I would guess. If you can keep them from turning. Maybe some UV glue? Or just CA glue. Btw... stamp handles, makes me think of "fork handles".😅

You could use the Motorcycle Pegs as handles for your Rubber Stamps. I have played with the DMX Decoders a lot. Great way to increase the number of PWM outputs on Arduinos plus increases to output to 1 amp. Got the 6, 8 and 30 channels versions. I use Arduino Nano to drive a DMX module to operate the Decoders. They are made to you can control any voltage that you feed to them. I used a 30 channel version to make a 3D Hanging Starfield display at the place I work in the US Space & Rocket Center here in Huntsville AL. Each channel drives a 1watt LED hanging from random lengths of wire with some channels driving colored LEDs that are lighting up the ceiling over the display.

The rubber stamp would be interesting even if it doesnt work! As an aside to this, perhaps mount the pad to a piece of wood with magnets in so you can attach a swappable generic handle? :)

Other than spacers and washers, maybe a bunch screwed in a line on a piece of wood could be used as a cable hanger.

It is also possible to print such stamps with a flexible filament. Done this before for my wife’s job. Works well. And as I do not have a laser engraver but a 3d printer…

I've experimented with flexibles in my printer, but it didn't end well. I think I would need d direct drive extruder for it to be a viable option

@ I am running an old Cr 10 mini. I just modified the extruder to a dual geared one and I still use the Bowden tube as it was stock. Works fine even with highly flexible Ninjaflex.

2:13 does anyone have a listing of that power supply? I cannot find any.
@johncoops6897
@johncoops6897 Ай бұрын
@@RohitDutta420 - The power supply is a *B3603* with 36V 3A max output Buck Converter. Pile'O printed or fabri-cobbled that ugly enclosure for it. They were originally made by MingHe (Zhengzhou Ming He Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.) and also sold under the brand name of Junctek BUCK3603. They are excellent products, however the pushbutton interface is annoying compared to the more modern ones. I'd suggest getting a more modern unit like Fsnirsi DC580, or ZK-4KX or Whuzi WZ3605SE, or the SK35H, SK40, SK40C, SK90 and SK90C (add XY- for full part numbers), or the XYH3606 and XYS3580 - all of which have Buck+Boost, a better display and rotary encoder for input. An EXCELLENT item currently on Ali is the "SK120 DC Buck Boost Converter CNC" (often also found by search of "SK60") which is actually the XY-SK120 from XINYI SiniLink - then find a listing with the "finished" option which includes an excellent aluminium enclosure, banana plug outputs, USB Type C PD-trigger input, etc for about USD $21 or so including shipping. 👍

Here is my theory: Someone keeps trying to buy that motorcycle part for themself, but they don't realize their default shipping address was set to your address when they sent you something once, so the part keeps getting shipped to you and they never receive it so they dispute the order and place a new one, but don't verify their address so it again gets sent to you, etc.

I wonder how useful that DMX driver is with things other than LEDs. Say, something like driving motors or other electronics not intended for use with it. As far as all the motorcycle pegs, maybe the pulley idea could be elaborated on a bit and make a sort of rope track to move an overhead camera on for a little flyby shot of the workbench or a train set perhaps

Another great episode of "Why the hell did I buy that!" :) These motorbike bobbins must be somone's idea a joke, so how about a "competition" for suggested uses for them?
@johncoops6897
@johncoops6897 Ай бұрын
They screw into the rear axle of the bike. When you want to lift the bike onto a (axle) service stand, you slip the 2 arms onto the 2 protruding peg thingies that protrude out from each side. He already described this clearly at 6:41 onwards. Alternative uses might be as cleats to retain for few wraps of rope, or as a peg hook to hang a coat etc onto. You could screw a heap of them into drilled & tapped holes in a tortoise shell, to produce a steampunk reptile that is resistant to eagle attacks. This might also be an advantage in competition tortoise fighting.
