There is always the notion that a cheap price excuses things not working right. Well, to me it doesn't matter if an aircraft is only $20 - or $5 - If shortcuts are taken that severly impact my enjoyment of an aircraft that could have easily been avoided, it's worth exactly $0 for me. If there is freeware out there that does a better job, then a $20 aircraft simply has no excuse to fail at such things.

Excellent and informative vid. I made a 400nm flight in the Dash 7 today myself and could not agree with your assessment more. I simply used my experience flying other turbo props to make the flight. Thank you for the wonderful work. 👍

the reason the aircraft was going too fast is because of some of the settings the feather and the fuel flow, you have to manage them properly or you will have too much power.. I will make a video on this, you can get it to work to not actually go anywhere in idle position if you have the settings correctly..

28:30 The condition levers are actually in the Feather position. That's why you don't have any forward thrust. For Taxi the power lever should be between 'Flight Idle' and 'Disc' Disc being the props at 90° to the airflow and not producing thrust, but rather drag at higher speeds. (Maybe you need to play around with the "Toggle Reverse" command to stay in the ground range

Great video, I generally fly like I stole it most of the time, on take off and landing just feel the aircraft response and guess the speeds and flaps using 1st flap 120 -110 knots bring in two and 3rd posistion when the decent rate feels OK, full when you closer to the run way. On landing with all turbo props, drop the condition lever/prop speed on touch down. 😂

Lukla is not really made for a Dash 7. But you should try Courchevel in France. They flew irl the dash 7 into there at its time.

In the pilots-aircraft-dhc7 folder there's a folder that is called Manuals. In that folder is a Quick Start guide which has a link to the operating Manual

I do not yet have this aircraft, so just simply speculating, but does it have a ground and a flight idle? If so, I'm afraid you might have been on the ground at flight idle, explaining why the plane wanted to roll so quick.

Yes each engine has an idle flow position. And i think (am not sure) that bar is meant to keep the throttle from ramping thrust to high. Unfortunately with ok's experience it seems to clip and run full. I have not had that experience. The plane itself is a decent V1.00 experience and would expect they will update it accordingly as time moves on. I personally have enjoyed my flights with it. My only gripe is the tds nxi is the only one compatible. I taxi on norm flow with engines 1 and 4. The rest set to idle.

So as stated above it does. However when I tried in ground idle the aircraft wouldn't move. It only rolled in flight idle. That was my first thought from my knowledge with using the ATR

Lol I love one of the new issues works fine till I land then the plane and it’s only this plane out of all the others I have once it lands and I go into reverse the fps goes to poop and idk why but it only happens on landing for this plane only

Apparently they are adding according to Facebook, and some bug fixes as well coming soon... shall see, might be worth grabbing after a couple fixes. Hopefully they fix the documentation too.

I totally agree. The TDS is really good and in many ways more authentic but the PMS is certainly more popular

Presumably according to Asobo. Mods should carry over. Either on day one or with a patch by the developer. Whether todays standard of mod will be similar standard of experience on fs2024 is up in the air. At least that is what i last heard on the subject.

While I agree wholeheartedly that proper documentation should be provided with the product, a quick search on this neat thing called the internet does provide one access to,a POH for this aircraft.

Maybe so, but can you guarantee that you are not infringing on some copyright by doing so? A product should not ask the customer to search for things like that on their own that with the risk of accessing dubious sources. The developer should have done plenty of research on an aircraft and know how it's supposed to be operated. Doing a little write-up with the essentials should be easy as pie at that point. At the very, very least he should provide a link to an authorized POH source.

Like I stated the developer should have provided the documentation, but since they didn’t, I was just pointing out alternate resources for those who would want to find the information rather than complain about it not bring provided. I agree with all of the comments down below and being someone who makes detailed documentation I know that it can turn into a ton of work very quickly. Then there's the content creator that wants to be as open and show the good and the bad with everyone. I guess my purpose in this was not everyone can read a POH as silly as that may sound. If you don't know where to look once you find the 800+ page documentation you could find yourself giving up rather quickly. I remember when I first started making my guides, they were pretty daunting at first . So for some like yourself, me and many others... yes I completely agree the POH is available online and will definitely get you what you need to know. At the same token, if you purchase an aircraft for flight simulation, I would think MOST simmers would expect to have that documentation there. Especially since as I stated, it DOES have the documentation through the engine start. So it has almost of buildup of "COOL" and then nothing... you start your engines and then nothing... I think that was the more frustrating part about it looking back on it. I think the better way to go would have been to just not include a guide on it until it was ready and just state that. The sale website states "Quick Start Guide" which I guess they're aren't wrong... but I believe most people would think the same thing I did Quick Start Guide= A very limited, high level guide that provides only the basic required steps to complete a generalized flight from A to B... not literally just the startup lol. But I see all points here and truly do love the engagement! Thanks for you chiming in! :)

I was looking forward to this aircraft. I will hold off for a bit and watch some other reviews and comments. I get the deal with a manual, but it also took me every bit of a five second Google search to find tons of manuals. It is just $20, and I don't expect anything remotely close to study level for that kind of money.
