We had been planning a visit to Pin Mill which sits on the south bank of the River Orwell, on the outskirts of the village of Chelmondiston in Suffolk for a while and it certainly didn't disappoint. Our short circular walk took us from the small (so best to get there early) carpark which was very reasonably priced, up through the lovely woodlands that looked down onto the River Orwell. The route we followed carried on through this woodland onto heathland where the gorse was then breaking out into bloom, before winding back round onto the woodland path again. There are other routes to follow of much longer distance, but the main reason we were there was to visit the boat wrecks. The pathway soon descended down to the River where, luckily the tide had gone out revealing the boat grave yard. The boats can be walked out to, but don't wear your best trainers as it's extremely muddy and slippery. I was really looking forward to seeing the wrecks and it really was a sight worth seeing. If you're a keen photographer, Pin Mill is definitely a place you should visit.
I really hope you have enjoyed watching this video. Please do give me a thumbs up, drop me a comment or questions, and subscribe, all of which would be very much appreciated. Please do check out my other walks in and around Norfolk and Suffolk, not forgetting our holiday adventures in the UK.
Thanks for watching and for your support of my channel, Jenny x

Well done Jenny👏👏 That was really good. Beautiful scenery. Nice Rob shared information on it. You can see why he said photographer's go there. The old boats look so nice. You had a perfect day for it. Birds were in fine voice too. The water through the trees looked stunning. You looked so happy by the boats. It's great to be outside. You filmed it all so well. Hope you enjoyed the pub after. Such a nice woodland walk👌

Thanks Jamie! I did really enjoy the boats, it's what attracted us to the area. I really wanted to explore more of them but I could feel myself sinking in places 😂 All in all it was such a lovely walk and we were so lucky with the weather. The pub was packed so we gave it a miss... it's an old smugglers pub apparently so it attracts lots of people. Yep, being outdoors is the best! Thanks again for your encouraging comments! Have a good evening 😊

Another fantastic walk Jenny. I find it curios ship wrecks aren't even considered unsightly. It's almost as if they're part of the coasts aesthetics. You made it back without slipping - that would have been sticky somewhat. A lovely day. Mark

Hi Mark, you're right, it does seem they're part and parcel of the coast. I must admit I did find them fascinating how they are just left and only becoming visible at certain times of the day! I did want to explore further, but I could feel myself sinking and it was very slimey! Would've made good viewing though, me going face down in gloop! 😂 Thanks, Jenny 😊

@@bumblejennybee88 They are for sure - who's going to clear them up? Not many. They leave us that fascinating visual though, which you love too. Ha, good you listened to sense. Have a cool rest of the week.

The look on Roberts face when you said he was going to explain was ....LOL He gave a great explanation. That was a big old tree down across the trail , guess no plans on moving it lol. Shouting whispy clouds , is like saying a scent shouts tranquility lol I grew up in a little fishing village on the south coast of Newfoundland and love anything to do with boats and harbours. The big black one at 10:26 I worked on one like that during my summer vacation when I was in high school for a while we use to collect fish from another community to be processed in our fish plant. My great uncle was a boat builder so I love seeing the old structures. Actually my daughters , boyfriends father still builds wooden boats Thanks for bringing us along today.

Haha! I had to get him to explain as he was fed up repeating it all to me!! 🤣 😂 I get distracted very easily!! I love old traditional wooden boats... Robert's family had one, and we spent many weekends just lazing on the river. It was great! I'd choose a traditional wooden one any day! We'd heard about this boat graveyard, so we had to visit, and it was quite surreal walking around them, knowing they'd once again be hidden once the tide goes in. Thanks for giving it a watch 😃

I found it fascinating that these boats have just been left and are unseen for part of the day. Would be good to see it from a drone view 😊

Greetings! The place seems perfect for a scenic, leisurely walk. The boat wrecks may hint at a story about their former pristine state.
