Enjoyed coming along once more Jenny. A Bittern? Rare indeed - but great they're there and you heard one. I was thinking - we did have good summer days then..... a bit of a contrast to your last visit. You could stroll and take it all in, which you did wonderfully bugs and all. Gotta say, I dig your bag. Thanks, Mark. Yes, it's an elusive bird... It didn't register at first when I heard the call. It's a weird sound. We're glad we managed to complete the route this time in the dry, although I did also enjoy walking in the rain! Haha. It's a great bag isn't it. One of my sons found it in a charity shop a few years ago and knew I love it, it goes on every walk with me 🐝 Thanks again Mark, all the best to you too, have a great weekend (I hope you're not getting too much rain)

Glad "You're Back" lol. The Bitten in the picture looks like the greater long yellow legs that we have here. Cute club house too bad it was for men only lol , luckily he made an exception That was a great tree at the 9:00 mark to sit on, under or even in if you want to climb. Great capture of the butterfly in flight. Thanks for taking us along hope you have great week.

Haha, he had no choice but to let me in!!! You're right, it was a perfect tree, just a shame the gnats were hungry! Haha. I was so happy I managed to capture the butterfly, they're only around for a short period. Thanks for coming along with us... have a great weekend! 😊

It's well worth visiting, Jeff! There are a few routes that you can follow. I'd say the longest one is probably around 2mile. There's a few hides to just sit and watch the wildlife if you don't fancy walking. Thanks... have a great weekend 😊

We were not expecting the weather to be as good as it was!! We usually get rain on ALL our holidays!! But we did, as always, have a great time, thanks! I know!! I was well impressed with myself! Hi... there is a carpark at the beginning of the woods. As you turn off the main road heading towards Snettisham Beach, it's very close to that junction. You'll really enjoy it 😊

Super lovely walk Jenny - you got a sweat on but it was worth the fields of cows and views. I agree I wouldn't argue with that farm - it would make a good renovation project if you had the money. I mean today I saw some cottages down a 1 km lane that were incredible. Do people live like this? Yeah, they do but hey we can walk and dream. Well, a great holiday in the end. Hi Mark! Thank you! We certainly did get a sweat on! We certainly couldn't complain about the weather on this year's holiday! There was a time I would've walked around the outskirts of a field of cows... I'm getting braver in my mature years! I think every walk we went on there were farm buildings left to be claimed by nature, every one I'd say that's the one for me haha! Yep, walk and dream... that'll do! I never made 26 miles in one go. I do remember one time a former co-worker who had moved to Houston was visiting me in Phoenix (we had worked together in Austin, so he was unfamiliar with Phoenix). I suggested we hike part of the National Trail in South Mountain Park. We parked at the western terminus of Guadalupe Road and headed west. The first couple miles were fairly steep, but most of the trail was level along the ridge of South Mountain. At one point I asked him, "Have you ever walked 20 miles in one day?" He said he had not. I said, "Well, you're going to today. That was the ten-mile marker." It had not occurred to him that the trail didn't turn around, even though we had gone west the whole time. He said, "Let's turn around here." We did. We were only 30 years old back then, and our legs were still very fatigued. I wouldn't dare try that now that I'm 57.

Haha! I love that story! When we did the 26miler for the first time I was just 12!! Did it a couple of other times in my 20s. I'm 56 now and although in my head I'm saying yes I can do it, my body would be saying, don't be so stupid!! 😂 Our average nowadays is only around 8 miles! And here in our part of the UK, it's flat!! 😂

Very relaxing Jenny as you amble down the road and then on through to the village - a village has a church by the way. Good to hear of your dad and your initiation - those were the days as were the days of steam. He will have caught then end of those years. Such a still day there. If only they could all be like that. Thanks Mark. I love this little walk... and walking along the Tissington Trail holds some very good, fun memories for me! Ah, OK, after googling it, I think it is, in fact, a hamlet... I would imagine the churchgoers would go to Hartington, which is only perhaps a mile or so from there. Wouldn't it be lovely for all days to still and calm. Have a great weekend, Mark. Hi, thank you...it was a beautiful short walk in the cool afternoon/evening breeze 😊 We had the tractor going past our cottage all week... I love big machinery, so I was happy to see them 😂 Haha, he did it once, but 5-10 miles is about the limit nowadays! 😃 It was a very welcome sign, to the pub! 🍷 🍺 😊
