Wow! I have been sewing for years, butI had not known about Wawak until now. Thanks so much for the introduction...I stopped your video right in the middle and went immediately to find their website (Sorry Nikki...it was just too tempting!🤭). I did come back and watch all the way through! My sewing machine doesn't like low quality thread either. Most inexpensive brands break constantly. Since switching to Gutterman I have had no issues.

I'm a big fan of CutterPillar -have had one of the light boards & mats for a few years now - I paper piece quilt blocks and it's so much easier with a light board. I really love the lights they sell, along with the holsters, to use at my machines - puts the light where you need it. I have been a customer @Wawak for a few years now, highly recommend them, great customer service. I'm a beader, the needle threaders by Dritz are just a type of beading threader for beads with tiny holes, a great repurpose by Dritz!

Thanks Nikki for the great info on these products and companies. It's always nice to have feedback about products. I don't know if you're aware of this issue with those heat erasable markers but I've heard from many people that if the fabric or item being marked is subjected to cool temps that the mark will come back. I suppose this wouldn't matter if it's on the wrong side of the fabric but one should be cautious about marking a quilt etc with these markers. I use the air erasable markers. Love your videos!

So glad you've discovered quality thread! Mettler & Presencia are also excellent, though the latter harder to find in stores, but Red Rock Threads sells packs. I also ordered the same Cutterpillar light/cutting board after seeing it at Sewing Expo in my area & love how thin & bright it is! And I came across WAWAK last fall & love them. But if you want a really ergonomic (wrist friendly) handle rotary cutter, get a Martelli, but it doesn't have the nice auto close cover feature--indeed would have saved a few nicks on the blade & finger... And so far I've found the genuine Olfa blades are the best (I use my rotary on leather--up to 7oz--and blade life is much shorter vs with fabric. Even tried KAI blades, since I love their scissors--better than others, but Olfa still #1 blade).
@Debee109

Totally agree with your comment about Presencia threads. Some years back I was having awful issues with thread then I picked up a copy of a book by the late Harriet Hargrave and she was talking about Presencia thread so I ordered a cone of the thread from her website to try. Loved that thread and never had a issue with it. When I needed more thread Red Rock Threads were the only store I could find online (Presencia Perle is the only Presencia thread sold in Australia) that had the cones available in my colours that would ship internationally. Great thread and great customer service from Red Rock Threads.

In addition to many sewing tools, I purchased Wawak's fabulous lint rollers. They use masking tape instead of the anemic white tape ones sold most everywhere else. I had a bad experience with the cheap Amazon heat erasable pens (not Madam Sew) so I went to Frixion. The only white one I had good luck with was the Clover brand. White sort of stays dim until it dries, then it shows up okay. Wish I’d seen this about the rotary cutter, I just paid $20 for a new one. I like the auto close feature.

I want to let you know that there are ways to use those oversized thread spools with our domestic machines. One is to take the innards out of a bic style stick pen and slide over your machines thread pin. The large spool will fit on there fine. Another way is a thread stand. Ive made several, they work great for any type of thread on any type of machine. There are tutorials around for making one. Thanks so much for telling us about wawak.
