Hi Just happened upon your video ....your kitchen is charming ..I noticed all the adorable details🤩....sometimes the smallest of things make such a big impact! I was able to check most off the list ....but got a few ideas checking your kitchen out❣️oh the kitchen so near and dear to me.....we just finished an entire gut/reconfiguration of our kitchen after living in our home for 22 years....we live on a 6.5 acre farm....with a big dairy barn, double silo, stable ( we have 2 horses), 2 story tack room and huge garage. Everything except my kitchen has been redone since living here....finally my turn! We did source 2 beams 22’ and 14’ they are naturally weathered and have beautiful saw marks in them....we were so lucky to have found them! We used nickel gap wood on ceiling....love the two together! I was able to buy a porcelain over cast iron sink and have it resurfaced.....we put it in an island ....with a 12” shelf at top of sink and dropped down on other side for a bar height counter, pot rack light above from Lamps Plus very reasonably priced.....I think if you can add a stand alone piece of furniture...that always adds so much charm! A cake stand, clear jars like you have....also inexpensive ways to add charm! I enjoyed watching....thank you for sharing 😊k

I'm Estelle, Walt's wife. We also have a 1930's house. In our kitchen we added some fruit ceramic tiles to our backsplash, it was a very popular thing to do in that era and it adds lots of charm. We have 2 cabinets which are separate from our kitchen area and put stained glass in them. We have a pantry and I thought of getting a frosted new door from Home Depot, but, quickly decided against it. I went to a architectural salvage store and looked for a beautiful flower carved door w/ lots of character which had wavy glass. Love it! I then went on E-bay and ordered a pantry decal w/bread and wheat and it looks great and no one else has one like mine.

The term I like to categorize subway tiles are not really trendy (though they are welcome in this time period) but consider it a classic staple in interior designs. It's always best if there is renovations to go with something classic when designing the structure, and if needed, have the "trendy" designs be the easy cosmetics that are easier to switch. Once again you have a beautiful kitchen that is an inspiration to a beautiful space.

It's Estelle again, another way to add charm, if you have the room is to buy an old stove. We added on to the back of our kitchen and after a few yrs. decided to make it look period from the era. !st purchase was a Hoosier cabinet, then 3 yrs. later decided to buy a stove, had to go to the next state to get it, it is green/cream w/art deco designs from 1935, just the cutest thing. I stage it w/fake bakery items. Then It took 8 mos. to find a porcelain-enamel table, I was lucky as table was green/cream also. I had to go to the next state to get it. Very rare it has all 4 original chairs. Then I needed my last piece, a fridge. Took 4 mos. looking. Found the cutest 4 ft. Frigidaire 1936. It was white, but, we spray painted it cream and 2 panels we painted green. So I have replicated in my new kitchen a 1930's kitchen, except the sink! I've collected metal bread boxes, cake takers Pyrex, flour sifters, also a old pull out step stool, got a metal counter pie safe. It is all very charming and no one else has it.

Your house is charming. Love the cabinet update ideas. Anyone getting an old sink should definitely purchase a lead detector. My girlfriend purchased a farmhouse sink and it was full of lead. She had been soaking bottles and sippy cups and both her girls tested high for lead. She had no idea.

Absolutely charming! Beautiful done! Think about attaching some painted white or stained bead-board to the refrigerator on the grey vinyl side facing the kitchen's entry. Then add some shallow plate racks or another place to put more cutting boards in that area above the counter. Doing this will make the refrigerator look more built-in and not so new and modern. You have done such a lovely job of making the kitchen feel vintage cottage farmhouse! You have a natural God-given talent for making things beautiful! I have enjoyed finding and following you recently.

I’m so happy for you guys. I wish I had had more children! I have a daughter and a son and a stepson and we have a grandson. I think people are very blessed when they have many children like the Bible says. Your home and your esthetic is so brilliant. I have many favorites and your channel is one Jami Ray Vintage is my first and #1, I also love “She Holds Dearly” and many others. I made a chalkboard from a broken mirror from Hobby Lobby. They broke it and reduced the price to $34.99, (it was probably a $100 mirror) I painted the MDF black and the edges white. It’s so pretty and I placed it over my buffet in my dining room We also CANNOT see your eye twitching, lol

My oldest two sons have an eye twitch when stressed; admittedly I sometimes do too. It can be "good stress" especially, like excitement or anticipation. 🙂 I like the big cutting board where it is, it deserves a special place because your sweet husband got it for you. Let your heart lead you to wherever that may be. I like the idea of adding corbels to my cupboards. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙏☀️❤️
